Personally, I'm into some classic multiple units like class423, 438 and 455, would that be a great idea to have those units in tsw? (maybe in some possible backdated routes in the future?) Would like to hear some thoughts.
It would be pretty cool to get a backdated London Brighton route a la Diesel Legends. Even easier as much of the detail would be quite similar. Just need some classic third rail NSE EMUs and 73s for the Gatwick Express (these could also be used on Fife route on Caledonian sleeper and on modern London routes).
A Thumper route from London bridge to Uckfield and East Grinstead using the emu's is something I hope to see in this game.
Hell yeah!! It would be nice to see an NSE 73 or a Gatwick express one with some 1st and 2nd gen passenger coaches, also some multiple units.
Oh right, not the track I were thinking along, but there is nowt like that in production, from what we know.
About the only chance of a Thumper would be if AP decided to rework their TSC version for TSW. But it seems selling sound files to DTG or associates is about as far as AP want to get involved with TSW. The two types we could do with are the Class 108 which was one of the most numerous classes, maybe outside chance of JT doing one as far more common in the north west than the 101. Some sort of suburban unit, possibly a Class 117, which would fit better on DLOGW than the 101. As regards EMU’s, a classic layer for BML could give CIG’s, VEP’s and EPB’s but no one seems interested.
I think you should set your expectations low, really low for this! TSC only has a few early DMUs and it's been around for a decade and a half.
Yes currently a discussion going on about that in the TSC forum. Sadly seems developers are more focused on doing modern units than older stuff. The best sim for DMU’s is Diesel Railcar but only on Steam/PC and of course nowhere near as pretty as TSW or TSC.
117s were the staple unit for the Thames Valley area, 101s being few and far between. As I have said multiple times, there are several missed opportunities for a few routes such as... DLoGW Class 117 and 121 Class 123 Class 128 NTP Class 124 Class 128 Class 141 WCL Class 108 and 122
Simulators like the model railway world have always had a deficit of classic multiple units, especially AC EMU's. TSC has a reasonable selection of third rail EMU's but that is about it, a handful of DMU's and one AC EMU of that period although I did see someone developing some for a East Anglian based network south east route. So for me yes I would like to see not only more DMU's of the first generation variety but DEMU's and boths 3xx and 4xx class EMU's. I could see a third rail EMU appearing at some point and maybe another first generation DMU like a 108, on top of the 104 but sadly I think the chances of things like a class 304 appearing are remote unless there is a third party out there who is into that period as I can't even see JT developing something like that to be honest.
I have a soft spot for older diesel and electric trains, so I certainly would love to see some older DMUs and EMUs, for any country.
