Sorry, if I'm in the wrong forum, I'll just download to the game. Last Sunday, and I am really enjoying it. I am having some slow Downs on my PS4 pro, I put a ticket in and was basically told my PS4 pro was a little old and they did the best they could with the available hardware which is fair enough. I was wondering if it was worth upgrading to PS5? and if I would see a big difference in graphics and game play. Cheers
Yes! The PS4 (and Pro) is really getting old. The busier the route the more slow downs you get. Busy routes is what you want eventually
-improved graphics -better textures -faster load times -busier timetables -more layers -your PS doesn’t sound like it’s about to take off
You might like to read: PlayStation - Changing To Ps5 Is Really Worth It?. I did, from a base PS4, and my answer would be a resounding Yes. You also get longer freight consists on e.g. USA routes, which I find adds to the immersion.
Hang on a little while longer and get a PS5 Pro, it might help with the slow downs on the PS5 build. Alternatively get a PC if your wallet can take the strain and enjoy full control over your TSW experience, plus all the great mods.
Thanks, since I already bought the edition with the flying Scotsman for the ps4, would I have to buy it again for the pc? I have a lenovo P50, 32 G of ram and 3 ssd drives, would that be enough or should I just shell out for a PS5? Thanks everyone for replying.
All the platforms are separate, what you buy on PS stays on PS. If you want to move to PC you need to buy everything again, if you stay on PS you can re-download you content for free when you move up
The TSW5 Special Edition on Steam (if those routes float your boat) would be a good move right now if you do switch to PC. Don’t forget also that Steam regularly has heavily discounted sales throughout the year.
So I picked up a ps5 and got everything installed. It does look quite a bit better but still stutters now and then. I wasn't able to sync my progress from the ps4 pro even though I was able to sync all my other games, not sure why but I need the practice so..... Thanks everyone again.
Enjoy your PS5. I managed to get one on release day through pre-order and haven't looked back. There was a limitation to transferring progress between console generations with TSW but at least any routes you already had for the PS4 version were available for free upgrade on PS5.
