So far there is only the West Somerset which is one of my favourite routes despite the speed limit, I think it would be good to see more routes featuring maybe as part of a pack of 2 or 3 routes if they are short as most obviously are. I would like to see the East Lancs or north York's simply because they are popular with enthusiasts and scenic, they could come with a popular heritage diesel to improve sales.

There is little point having more preserved railways with the hiatus on further steam traction. Nice though something like the Severn Valley, NYMR or East Lancs might be, trundling along at 25 MPH with a large main line diesel hauling 5 coaches gets a bit boring. Steam especially a small tank loco such as a Pannier or Jinty would be a bit more of a challenge but not going to happen. Same for stuff like Wesh narrow gauge, more's the pity.

That's why I thought a vintage diesel would be a crucial part of a new route, maybe a bubble car or a class 14 or 25, the scenery is after all a crucial part of such a route so I don't think speed is so important.

Oh I would pay handsomely for a Class 25, at least if you gave it 8 coaches to haul would be a bit more challenging.

Going on recent releases they'd likely settle for the Lakeside and Haverthwaite if they were to do one. All 3 miles of it!!!

Or our local Swindon and Cricklade which is a similar length. The trains spend more time at stations and running round than moving!

I think WSR will be it unfortunately, I believe even that was a late substitute for something else and not planned. Then there is the fact that they might become samey with similar rolling stock. Can’t see it happening but would be fun.

It would certainly have to one of the longer and more diesel orientated heritage railways, like the ELR, I would suggest.
