I wonder if anyone can tell me how to go about producing a list of the stations on a route so they appear correctly located on the route Map.
It's tricky navigating to places on my route to do some work when the route map is largely blank and gives so little indication of where I'm Jumping to.
I guess I missed my chances of placing markers using the original kml file but I'm now so well beyond that point.

I think this is exactly what the .kml file is meant for. It has no other intended use than giving you the placemarks to jump to within the project but also a generic guidance for where and how your route goes at the route map.

We had the discussion going on before, whether the kml file actually does more to the route creation progress than that since some commands have been named so. But after all I understood, I think no.

There is no missed chance at all. Do you know that you even can edit and reimport the .kml file and load it into your project at anytime?

When I started, I missed 2 stations for my project in my first .kml file, so I just edited it, brought the 2 stations I missed in and imported this edited/new .kml file back into my project. Everything worked nicely!

Or is there a problem which occurs when you do so?

Thanks for that it couldn't have been easier TBH.
I simply added some markers to Google Earth then made sure all relevant markers went into a new folder and all were ticked. Then saved the folder as a new kml and imported the file into the editor Route Content KML folder.

In the Route Building / Use Guides mode I highlighted the new kml file and clicked on Use Selected Assets then Show Guides.
I now have both old and new kml files referenced as the KML Source and the new markers have appeared in the RouteMap.
There was no need in this case to create any paths between the markers as many tiles and some of the tracks are already in place for the route.

Edit: I had to remove the reference to the original kml file as my new markers disappeared after an editor restart.
Having only the new one selected to show guides works fine.

As an aditional help as we talk about making navigation easier in the Editor, maybe you remember my PC Editor Shortcuts thread, where you also commented and gave me help about the F key.

In this post, you can find some extra tips from me regarding the navigation (I will just quote them below to make things easier).

What I suggested to you here was basically tip 2.) , but I also would advise you to take a look at the other tips. Some of them can make your life really easier.

I personally use tip 4.) a lot for parts of the route which are between two placemarks/stations and navigating from one of those to the location I want to be in, is still a bit too far away to fly over to it.
