I'm sure it will get better once I get more experience with the Class 395, but I noticed the timings, particularly for the first 2 or 3 stops near Ebbsfleet (going towards Faversham) is particularly demanding and is actually hard to stay on time, and without much opportunity on the latter part to regain some time. I like the fact this route is more demanding and challenging in terms of timing, something that is definitely lacking from the german routes where you can easily manage to get to every stop with 30s~1m to spare, but at the same time I don't like the aggressive driving style demanded to stay on time, having to use notch 4 to get to 20mph seems a bit strange. So out of curiosity I wondered whether or not this was realistic and I found this The timetable is accurate to real life until Rochester, when the TSW timetable goes ahead of the real timetable (4/7th January), I can understand if the timetable they used was an earlier one, but it seems hard to believe the timings would have been different, particularly on HS1 where the services would not have been affected by other traffic. The service I took was the 0630 1F11 Source for the real timetable and the link to download the pdf I wonder if I'm the only person bothered by this, it's not a real problem that's why I decided to put it in off topic, but it seems strange that some aggressive driving seems necessary just to stay on time, maybe I'm just a NoOb or I just need to get some experience... :/
The majority of services are several minutes faster than IRL, maybe they have a certain target to achieve for a service length or something, it seems strange.
I would expect timetable timings to be spot on, otherwise it will be a struggle to get to some stations on time.
I've struggled to keep the 395 on time too, the DC acceleration needs you to be quick on the door close and pull away procedure.
Yep, I've been doing things as fast as possible yet I've still arrived in Faversham 2 minutes late (with a bit of overspeeding) On the first service from St.P (0655 1F08) a 375 holds you up near Strood and I failed to get the gold medal twice I also think the 395 is a little underpowered under DC at higher speeds, as soon as you reach 60/65 mph it just seems to die, but this is just speculation. I understand it's the same power as a 375 but with a lot more weight, but the 375 in comparison it's a dragster even uphill it reaches 90mph fairly easily.
Remember that in real life the trains need extra time for things the game doesn't have like the guard closing the door. That said, DTG sometimes do go a bit too far with their timetables, like in GWE, which was pretty difficult, if not impossible.
I tried starting a service at the same time as real life and the TSW clock is slower then real time so by the end of the journey it's probably still the same time it takes in real time.
Interesting, I guess the in-game clock would be affected by frame rate which I guess would also affect the simulation as a whole (the time is actually slower).
