It seems only natural that DTG would want to expand their West Coast and East Coast commuter routes. The SC-44 is useful on a NUMBER of routes. 350 made to use on Coaster and Sunliner runs along the West Coast in California. Used by the NYC transit authority. The majority went to AMTRAK for running across the country. It's already in Train Sim Classic, and it's electric brother is in the game as the AMTRAK ACS-64. No licensing issues. Not a huge jump from what's already in game. It opens up at least dozens of new routes (many of which connect to existing routes like the Pacific and Coaster which connect to the Antelope/San Bernadino routes) and the connections to the NEC and Boston routes. In fact it seems so obvious a choice there's probably already work being done on it to do those other routes, but anyway thought I'd throw this up there.
Siemens Chargers are a must for me. We should get them on a Brightline/FEC route (SCB-40), Pacific Surfliner (SC44 in both PS and Coaster liveries), Amtrak California, ACE, a Canadian route with VIA Chargers, Amtrak Cascades, a Chicago route with Amtrak Midwest SC44s, and of course, Amtrak's long distance ALC-42 Chargers on Cajon, SPG, and HSC or a furture route (maybe Stevens Pass, Marias Pass, Chicago area, Seattle or Portland areas, etc.).
a modern diesel that can go up to 125 mph / 200 kph, hell yeah, sign me in ... plus they are going to be very present in coming years as many US railways opt to get them
Yet somehow the Siemens Charger hasn't made its appearance on TSW. Siemens and/or it's US clients reluctant to license their flagship locomotive, liveries and brand name for inclusion in a game that encourages virtual trespassing gathering collectibles as a core game element?
they do operate in active service, but they are yet to become ubiquitous in the US... many of the orders for long-distance and regional fleets have been placed just recently (relatively speaking), so they have to be manufactured, tested and such... I would love to drive one in-game, but in the meantime, F125 isnt too bad, as it is very similar type of loco... but I definitely want more US passenger locos with functioning safety systems... F125 is a nice chill to drive, but I wouldnt mind having to be more vigilant to satisfy safety systems O
After hearing what happened with one of the Amtrak Cascades Siemens Charger, what got me motivated to like the Charger was Amtrak. I first started with not knowing the Charger replaced the F59PHIs, but I learned on the internet that the Charger replaced them. In my opinion, I decided to support Siemens and European train manufacturers after 7-8 years of liking the Charger.
