TSW seems to be built with a default system such that there is an absolute stop signal at the end of any drivable service. Is this in any way adjustable? Any service that in real life continues on past the arbitrary stopping point of the modeled route would not encounter the signal downgrades in the miles approaching that last stopping point. As a Northeast Corridor fan playing a lot of Boston and Trenton, I'm thinking about westbound services arriving at Providence or Trenton, or NJT Long Branch services arriving at Rahway. I know there's always the "toggle ATC/ACSES off" option, but it would be nice to have the correct signal indications in-game.
Think this was discussed some time ago and the response from DTG was basically this is how services are set up to interact with the signalling system. At certain locations or the end of the run the signal will not clear until the objective has completed. Sadly this goes against real world practice in many respects, particularly where trains on our part routes are making part of a larger journey. Unless there is a good reason not to clear the signal until the "Train Ready To Start" button is pressed by platform despatch staff, the signaller will try and give a clear run as this mitigates the SPAD risk. Reading on GWE is a classic example. If nothing else is about, a Down HST will probably have the road off towards Didcot.
I asked if it's possible to dispatch beyond service and it's not currently possible. When the service has no more instructions, the next signal will be a Stop.
