Is there already a way to add working signals? I can't find this option anywhere.

How to create your own signals from scratch? Or how to add already made signals into your route and get them working?

    They're two vastly different topics.

    Oh it's not that bad.

    1. Enter Network Edit Mode and select the "Attach linkable objects to the track" tool. It's the 10th one from the top.
    2. In the Content Browser, browse to the DLC that contains the signal you wish to add. Signals are normally stored in the /RailNetwork/Signals folder of a DLC. Once you're in that folder, move on to the next step.
    3. You should see at least one 'signal model' and 'signal view'. The model is the programming behind the signal's behavior. The view is the programming behind the signal's appearance.
    4. Click and drag a signal view blueprint into your route. Upon releasing the left mouse button, the signal's link will appear when you hover over a track section. Clicking again will place the signal link. To change the direction of the signal link, press and hold LEFT SHIFT.
    5. Upon left clicking the signal view, several details about it will appear in the "Details" pane on the right hand side of the editor. The "Default" section of the Details pane allows you to adjust the signal's head and post configuration, among other things. The "Network Signal Component" section has a button called 'Edit Property' that allows you to adjust other configuration settings such as the Routing Table.
    6. When you have your signals placed in their intended positions, the next step is to perform a Track Section Fill. While still in the Network Edit Mode, select the "Manage track sections" tool. It's the 4th one from the bottom.
    7. Click the "Fill" button at the top of the tool's options. The track sections and signal routing tables will now generate.
    8. Go back into the Routing Table of one of your placed signals. When you filled the track sections, all possible routes to the next signal were automatically created in the routing table. You can dig into each route and adjust settings such as track speeds via that path. You can also entirely disable a signal route so the dispatcher cannot use it to path trains.
Those are the absolute basics of placing a signal in the route. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for the tutorial! This was very helpfull. But just one question. I don't know if you know the or a solution for this but sometimes my content browser does not show all files that should be there and that I created but if I look on my disk, these files are existing but just don't get shown.

It's a bug with the current build of the public editor. The current workaround is to create a new file of the same type and name in that directory. When the editor gives you the error that the filename already exists, choose to NOT overwrite the existing one and it should then appear in the content browser.

    Okay. Thanks.
Back to the signals. I added one to my route and they look like this. Screenshot 2023-10-01 120122.png Screenshot 2023-10-01 120132.png

That's the signal view by default. You can then click into there and customize the appearance. By the way, you're going to want to change the direction that signal link is facing. Left click the signal view, then while LEFT SHIFT is held down, left click the link to change the direction it's facing.

Got it now but the signal works in the wrong direction. It should block to the right and not to the left. How do I change that? And how can I set the light to green? Bild_2023-10-01_131101138.png

You want the signal link pointing in the direction of travel.

You don't set the light to green. That is the job of the signal model. You just place the signals, configure their parameters, and the signal model does the rest.

    Hi there,

I'm wanting to use the London to Brighton DLC signals for my route, however upon dropping the blueprint, I get this message below...

    upload_2023-11-12_11-37-28.png

And it's the same if I try to use the Brighton to Eastbourne DLC

    upload_2023-11-12_11-40-13.png

Any assistance would be helpful, thank you :)

You have to drop the signal view on the map, not the signal model :)

I can't seem to change the yellow direction of the signals, even when pressing or holding the left shift key.

You're using the wrong mode. Choose the "Attach linkable objects to the track" tool on the left. Then drag a signal view blueprint into the viewport.

YAY Managed to get it in but umm... How do I program it? Sorry I'm being a pain!

I'm so use to TSC Editor, as the same with everyone, it's a huge leap in tools.

So if you have placed and attached your signal, you go to the "Track Section" tool
    This one:
    upload_2023-11-16_20-3-24.png
And your track should be black. Now first click on "Clear All" and then on "Fill" and then you should see colored track lines like this:
    upload_2023-11-16_20-4-8.png
Then it will work by itself.
