For anyone that is interested, Simhub has had an update and will now display all raw data from TSC. For those that have used it in the past you would have been aware that it was missing some telemetry but that is not the case anymore.

Big thanks to the programs creator SHWotever for working with a few of us to get this fixed up, we especially appreciate it as it is mostly focused on sim racing so it was nice of them to take time to get it sorted for us.

For those that arent aware of Simhub it allows you to create dashboards with gauges and pretty much anything else you can think of to display on seperate screens, overlays, and even on tablets using the telemetry outputted from your relevant sim. The possibilities are endless if your clever enough but even lowly skilled ppl like myself can get something pretty cool knocked up.

I use Simhub all the time for my simracing. Interested in how you use it in train sim?
Had a quick look and I dont see anything even remotely useful. Unless you are using the accelerometer?

So how is your own plugin going Bekns? I think us having a discussion at Github brought it to SHWotevers attention and in the blink of an eye he had an update!

tsme I too used Simhub for racing and you can do similar stuff with TS.

Here are some dashes I made before the update some locos in game display literally nothing in cab so I made dashes for them but not much data was available via Simhubs plugin. With the update I can populate the dashes with a more data now. I'm working on a steam dash atm and plan to do more. I display them on a 11in usb monitor and I have third rails on a second monitor.

I wonder if it can display info from the hub. Like distance to next speed restriction, distance to next signal etc….

Well with the update from SHWotever it pretty much made my plugin in its current form obsolete but that is cool, the ultimate outcome from all this was to get full telemetry from TSC into Simhub and that is now the case :)

I will be starting a new plugin when I get round to it that will take a list of controls and display only the control that is relevant for that loco / train so that you only need one value for a particular gauge.

So as an example you could have a list of all the different brake pipe telemetry's from all different locos and the plugin would use some logic to determine the correct one to use and then add and set a property something along the lines of BrakePipeUniversal and then you could use that value behind the brake pipe gauge and it would display data no matter what loco / train you are driving. This would also take into account situations where there might be 2 different values like in the case where there is a BrakePipeDisplayed and a BrakePipePSI but you really only want the BrakePipeDisplayed value to be used.

I would probably use a text file to control the list and this way ppl can add more to the list depending on there own collection and it could be hierarchical so that items at the top of the list are chosen over items at the bottom of the list but if the particular control value is not present for the loco / train then it would keep looking until it found one then use that.

This will be a more complex logic to get right so dont hold you breath for this one just yet

I thought about this myself but in its current state this is not possible, Cobras Raildriver Software in advanced mode is able to get some of this information namely the distance to next speed limit but would need changes to the software / script to output it to somewhere that Simhub can read it.

Are you looking in the right area as it should have all telemetry that is available at run time, you need to enable the RawGameData check box in the available properties screen

This is very intriguing. I'm going to keep an eye on this, and when a HUD releases I'm going to try it out. I used DashPanel for a while in Euro Truck Simulator but with the full version for that game costing much more on mobile than PC (I wanted to use my phone as a separate display for it) I didn't go further with it.
