Will there be step-by-step simple route tutorial? Not just video tutorials but written tutorials. I tried to use QGIS to get STRM data but nothing shows up on the image window where Open Street Map image is.
In Train Sim Classic, you can create a new route using the world editor from within the game. In TSW4 Editor, I want to create a blank flat terrain (no STRM or LIDAR), load OSM images, lay tracks, and run trains. Is this possible?
Yes, you can actually do most of that by following the PC editor preview stream. Not sure about the OSM images, but Google Maps works.
I tried to create a new route following the video tutorial at Train Sim World 4: PC Editor (Beta) Preview - YouTube but it's very hard for me to do that. Matt has tutorial at Tutorial - Making A Scenario (basics) | Dovetail Games Forums for creating scenarios. Will there be a tutorial for creating new routes similar to what Matt did with tutorial for creating scenarios?
By any chance jeffmorris from the Trainz side, NYC Subway fame? Welcome to the dark side. I’ve been dividing my time between Surveyor and trying to learn/understand this UE4 based one and it is challenging!
Yes. I'm from the Trainz side. I want to learn how to create routes in UE4 but there are no written documents on how to create new routes. Someone on this forum is creating subway cars and a route based on NYC subway system. Route Art - Beach Town Local In Ue4! | Dovetail Games Forums
Well it’s going to be challenging and interesting in equal measure. The good news is DTG are actively supporting the process and hopefully between that and community input everything will eventually become clear.
