Hello Everyone! Today i'm suggesting a Swiss route which is part of the Simplon Railway. It's 53 km long and it connects Sion, the capital of the Canton of Valais to Brig, a major railway corssroad that connects Northern Europe to Italy via the Lötschberg and Simplon base tunnels. The route would feature the Re 460 with IC2000 coaches for InterRegio services and the RegionAlps RBDe 560 NPZ Domino for regional services. The Route It has 10 stations and it goes through the Rhône Valley which has a beautiful scenery. Services The focus of the route is the two InterRegio services: the IR90 and IR95 operated by the Re 460. It also has a regional service that stops at all stations and uses the RBDe 560. Services for the Re 460: IR90 (Geneva Airport -) Sion - SIerre/Siders - Visp - Brig Runs once per hour in both directions. IR95 (Geneva Airport -) Sion - Sierre/Siders - Leuk - Visp - Brig Runs once per hour in both directions. IC6 (Basel SBB -) Visp - Brig Runs once per hour in both directions. IC8 (Romanshorn -) Visp - Brig Runs once per hour in both directions. Services for the RBDe 560 NPZ Domino: R91 Stops at all stations. Runs once per hour in both directions. Rolling Stock The trains included with this route are the Re 460 with IC2000 coaches and the RegionAlps RBDe 560 NPZ Domino. Re 460. IC2000 coaches and cab car. RegionAlps RBDe 560 NPZ Domino. Note that another great option for the passenger coaches are the EW IV coaches. EW IV coaches and cab car. Layering Oportunities Owners of german freight locos could play some freight services between Visp and Brig. They come from the Lötschberg and Simplon base tunnels onwards to Italy or Germany. The inclusion of the Re 460 and passenger coaches would add the IR15 and IR27 services between Luzern and Sursee which will add more life to the route. It would also add AI traffic in both Luzern and Chur stations.
