This route is a bit of a interesting one. it would cover the 53 miles from london to bedford and also include the 6.5 mile branch to st.albans abby coming in for a total route length of 59.5 miles. It is set in the early years of silverlink (2001-2002) rolling stock would include: the class 150/1 sprinter(for the marston vale line) and the class 321/4.(for the st.albans and northhampton lines) the route would have stations as listed: London Euston Harrow & Wealdstone Bushey Watford Junction Watford juntion Garston Bricket Wood How Wood Park Street St Albans Abbey Kings Langley Apsley Hemel Hempstead Berkhamsted Tring Cheddington Leighton Buzzard Bletchley Fenny Stratford Bow Brickhill Woburn Sands Aspley Guise Ridgmont Lidlington Millbrook Stewartby Kempston Hardwick Bedford St Johns Bedford here is the genral route map and loco images and a tsw screenshot of th general livery Note. the picters are not mine only the tsw screenshot is. go check them out on on the wikimedia commons. thank you for reading and feel free to commment.
note: i know it is on the WCML but this is the most we cold get. it is a rather long commuter route. (plus if this did happen then we could get National Express Germany trains on koln to achan
I like the idea, but don't know if DTG would go for the length. The best we could probably hope for would be as far as Bletchley if the line were to include the branch to St. Albans. I'm also not sure how easy it would be to get licensing from National Express for the Silverlink branding. It may be easier to get licensing from West Midlands Trains and do a modern-era take on the route.
Good shout but back to the 80’s with Class 310 EMU’s on the stoppers and Class 105 Cravens on the branches. Problem with this route regardless of era is it just needs too many trains to be authentic. As OP states, Class 321 and Class 150 would need to be built from scratch. You would also need something for the main line services, either a Pendolino or in earlier times a loco hauled consist. They can get away with a deserted WCML for the short stretch on Bakerloo, but not all the way out to Bletchley.
yeah, now that i think about it, the only way we would get this is if we have some virgin routes and a class 90
