After an update today my game has taking a long time to load up the game, when selecting a route it doesn't do anything for a minute. Also loading into services is taking longer than usual.

    Anybody else noticed this?

    I play on a xbox one x

Not particularly since the update, but for me occasionally it will take an unusually long time to start the game, that is, to get to where the video starts. I sincerely wish we could disable these two videos, they are quite unnecessary and become a drag to click through once you’ve seen them a few times. Sometimes the route selection screen animation can also be very choppy with heavy stuttering.

Yeah, when I try to start up the game, it gives me a message saying “please try again, for some reason Train Sim World 2 took too long to start.” And this issue has happened ever since Wednesday’s patch update, and now I can’t play TSW 2. This is just stupid.

I noticed you're on a One X - is your game on an external drive?

The latest XBox System Update seems to have messed up the system's ability to properly read higher capacity external drives.
I initially thought my SSD was failing on my Series X, but then found the same problem on my Series X, Series S, and my XBox One, where games on all their respective 8TB drives keep having this "took too long to start" error, and games installed on the drives keep vanishing at random from the available list and only reappearing after attempting to reinstall them whereupon they give an "updating" message for two seconds then show up again. The only drive unaffected was a 2TB Firecuda in a ROG Strix Arion enclosure.

I figured it must be a system update causing the error after weighing up the odds of two Samsung QVO SSDs and two Seagate Ironwolf HDs all developing the same hardware fault on the same day, while none of the identical drives I bought at the same time, sitting in my PC and laptop, are affected. Whereas I already knew a version of this error has always happened with drives over 2TB formatted for media on all XBox consoles.
