With a route length of approximately 55 miles, the lines from Birmingham Snow Hill & Birmingham New St to Stratford-upon-Avon and Leamington Spa provide a good mix of local stopper services, express passenger services as well as freight, ECS and railtour traffic. This route would be set circa 2019, when 153s and 170s were still making regular appearances on the route. Proposed Rolling Stock Class 70 in Freightliner Racing Green & Colas livery Built in 2 batches in 2009 and 2014, the Freightliner Class 70s see most of their work for Freightliner running services between Lawley Street and Leeds to Southampton, both of which would feature on this route between Birmingham and Leamington Spa, of which there are 8 trips every weekday. The Colas fleet is most commonly seen working services between Westbury and Bescot/Cliffe Hill, which would also cover the Leamington to Birmingham section of the route. Class 153 in West Midlands Railway (Ex London Midland) livery During 2019, the 153s had 3 or 4 diagrams each weekday on the Snow Hill Lines, all of which they would be paired with a Class 170 for. Most of these services were to Whitlocks End and Stratford, but I can't find the article I've read previously to pinpoint exactly which services they worked. The class 170 will also be included with this route, but due to the picture limit and the upcoming Rivet DLC I feel it is unnecessary to go into detail about the unit. Class 168/0, /1, /2 and /3 in Chiltern Railways 'Mainline' livery Due to the image limit I can't include a picture of every 168 subclass, but the 168/0 is the only variant of the class that isn't in TS Classic so I think it would be nice to see this small fleet in the game. The units would be drivable between Snow Hill & Moor St to Leamington. There are a few differences between all 4 subclasses, which I will outline below: Class 168/0. First set of Class 168s built in 1998, beat the Class 66 to title of first new privatised train in service by a week. Total of 5 4car units built, capable of 100mph. The driving carriages on these units are 24.1m long, whilst the rest of the fleets driving carriages are 23.62m long. Also have a unique headlight cluster to all other variants of 168, 170, 171 and 172 Class 168/1. Built in 2000. 168106 and 107 are 4 car units, with the remaining 6 units being 3cars. Fitted with the standard Class 170 light setup Class 168/2. Built in 2004. 168214, 218 and 219 are 3car units with 215 to 217 being 4car units. Fitted with same headlight cluster as later 170s, 171s and all the Class 172s. Class 168/3. Built in 2000 as 170/3 for First Transpennine Express, converted to 168/3 for Chiltern in 2015. All 9 units are 2car, and often appear on the Leamington local services vice 165. Class 172/2 and /3 in West Midlands Railway livery Built in 2010 to replace the London Midland 150s, the 27 strong fleet of 172s often work in pairs on Snow Hill Lines services to Stratford, Dorridge and Leamington Spa. The fleet consists of 12 2car units and 15 3car units. They are capable of a top speed of 100mph. Route layers The CrossCountry 170 from the Rivet DLC would layer in to provide AI services at Birmingham New St as well as ECS moves to/from the depot at Tyseley The Rivet Railtour DLC would also find use as the Shakespeare Express, which normally only operates on Sundays but can fit into the weekday timetable with a bit of moving around. It would also feature the WSR class 47 on the rear of these trains as the Vintage Trains Class 47. The non-Freightliner and Colas freight traffic would be operated by the ever present DB Class 66s.
80 miles probably too long for an urban route, more likely to get a section either side of Snow Hill/Moor Street.
Too many models to create the birmingham skyline along with the route all the way to Leamington Spa. Most 80 mile routes are typically 95% countryside. Birmingham-Wolverhampton maybe?
