Can we please get The Soho Depot for Birmingham Cross-City. Literally it was supposed to be in the route, yet those plans got cancelled. But it was 10% in its developing stages… We already have the rail’s for it, that was found in the hidden tracks. I’m sitting here and reading the recent article about The Centro Regional Railways pack. And they are mentioning The Soho Depot a lot, yet it’s not in the game… And for everyone that didn’t read the article, let me show you some quotes. “Last year, West Midlands Railway decided to apply the 1990s era Centro livery to one of its Class 323 units: no.323221. After a visit to Soho Depot, home of social media’s Hunslet the Bear, the unit re-entered service with its new, nostalgic colours on 19th December 2022.” “Hunslet the Bear is Soho Depot’s loveable mascot, seen on social media making rolling stock inspections, receiving units at the depot and even time in the cab! As well as being a collectible along the Birmingham Cross-City route (players are required to provide them with hi-vis jackets), they can now be featured in the cab in-game too as part of the Centro Class 323 Add-on.” Like come on man… This is my favorite route and the depot is literally the only thing we need, to be a complete full package. IMO, for me, if we had Soho Depot added, this would be one of the best DLC’s in TSW history. That and adding different trains stopping at Birmingham New Street, to make it feel more alive. Other than that, I love everything about this route.
They mentioned Soho in the article because: It's where 323221 was wrapped in the Centro Livery It's where the Bear is kept in real life. There is no reason for them to make it because of these references. Extending baked routes takes a lot of time and, really, it's not overly needed on BCC. It's a long enough route with plenty to do. There's much better improvements for other routes that should be considered ahead of this.
It was a rather poor decision at the concept stage not to include Soho Depot, IMHO. However if DTG returned to this then a wider expansion with the lines to Wolverhampton, Walsall, maybe even Coventry and a Class 350 should also be on the sgenda.
