Why was Rio Grande picked at the route Soldier Summit and not Utah Railway as they are driving there now?
Was the Utah Railway working over the line 6 years ago? This route was released 4 years back in 2015 and it would have been worked on at least a year before release.
I'm pretty sure Soldier Summit is set in the 80s or 90s, and that's why Rio Grande is the primary railroad used on the route, as the Rio Grande consolidated with Southern Pacific in 1988, and then merged with the Union Pacific in 1996. It's the UP that uses that stretch of track today. I'm pretty sure that Utah Railway just shares trackage rights with the UP.
