I’m trying to figure out how can I enhance the graphics for TSC because I just got it for my pc and it looks like PS2 graphics if anyone can help me I’ll appreciate it
If I'm not wrong the game engine shares alot with PS2 actually First off all you need to have good enough specs to set everything to max in settings. Then you also need to have routes and rolling stock that is made in the recent years so that they are up to date with new shaders, textures and models. I recommend getting some enhancements packs from AP, like sky and weather and the new vegetation pack. You might want to look into RW enhancer and Reshade. Just have your money ready and TSC will look good
I'm not sure what PS2 you're using. The insult 'PS2 graphics' is almost universally an exaggeration, since most games with 'PS2 graphics' are at worst games with 'PS3 graphics' and most of the time 'PS4 graphics'. If you're going to use an insult, make sure it makes sense. It's not a personal complaint, I just think the insult is stupid.
There are significant graphical upgrades you can make, but most of them are paid mods/programs, so be aware this will require some more $$ from you if you want to really get into them. I personally use and recommend the following: - Reshade - FREE program that injects into TSC and can do things like improve FXAA, make some lighting and color improvements, simulate HDR, etc. - RWEnhancer 2 - PAID program that makes significant changes to shaders, AA, lighting, Ambient Occlusion, shadows. Big difference maker - Armstrong Powerhouse Weather and Sky Enhancement 2.0 - PAID Massive upgrade to skies and weather and along with it significantly more natural lighting. - Armstrong Powerhouse Vegetation Enhancement - PAID upgrade to the poorly modeled default globular umbrella 3D trees on most UK routes. Less essential: Armstrong Powerhouse Track and Signal enhancement packs - Two PAID packs that introduce 3D track sleepers and better signals. Armstrong Powerhouse Cloud Pack - Adds a ton more skyboxes to work with their weather and sky pack. Will randomly select a sky for the weather you choose in Quick Drive or to match the chosen weather pattern in scenarios.
Personally I would say the track pack is definitely not a “less essential” the track pack I would say is one of the more important packs personally.
Of course, we all have different priorities. I can't tell much of a difference at 120 mph but it will be more important for others.
Nope, I agree with 39001 here, I'd say the track EP is definitely an essential graphical upgrade, but don't forget the track EP isn't just graphical it's an audio upgrade too. Your argument implies you start a scenario already rolling at 120mph and the scenario ends with you still doing 120mph, do you not do track speed limits or station stops then? Not being argumentative or facetious (in before Jan bans me again for not being fluffy enough), just driving the point that I'll guarantee you spend plenty if not more of your time at slower speeds and stationary than you will at your stated 120mph, is all.
I'm not making an argument. I simply listed the major visual upgrade mods with my own personal suggestion as to which were less essential. This is not a hill I'm going to die on. You find the pack more important than I do. That's cool. I don't see a reason we need to debate its merits.
Ok poor choice of words on my part, discussion, point of view, opinion.. God forbid debating on a forum eh..
New As others have said, The Armstrong Powerhouse sky & weather pack, track pack, signal pack and vegetation pack make the game look way better, and also not to mention reshade. I also have a track texture replacement for AP track from Alan Thomson Sim. Combine that with my reshade preset and your game will look way better than the original. (I don't have the vegetaion pack......yet) Here's some screenshots on the Huddersfield line as an example.
Speaking of improved vegetation, as some have, I notice that VP recently came out with a Tree Pack V2 (found at this link). Is it supposed to replace VP's already fine looking original Tree Pack, or is it used in combination with it (if one desires to)? Provided documentation makes no reference one way or other.
Just tried out your reshade preset, and it looks great. I've fiddled about with it before without really knowing what I was doing, and could never get it looking quite right, so this is just what I was after. I use the AP packs and RW Enhancer Pro, but I reckon the reshade on its own would give the OP a good start without damaging their wallet. There seems to be very little performance impact from it.
Yes, my Reshade preset is designed so that you don't need RWEnhancer. But if you want the best results it's recommended to use the AP weather, Cloud, Signal Packs. I don't have the vegetation pack yet so wouldn't be able to give an opinion what it'd look like using that - Once I get enough space of my PC to fit it in, I'll moify the shaders as required. It's also recommended to use these AP track texture replacements available from ATS. https://alanthomsonsim.com/downloads/ap-track-enhancement-textures-pack-v1-1/
If anyone wants to use my Reshade preset, you can grab it here: https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...her/i3946-ph-un-kiro0s-tas-reshade-preset-v30 Feedback and comments welcome.
