I think it would be nice to have a model editor with the livery editor, to be able to choose railroad variations (high/low headlights and numberboards, 3 or 4 bay windows, hi-ads or steerable trucks). It would also be nice to be able to choose stuff like numberboard color and road numbers on the numboards. It would be nice to be able to stop AI trains from using reskins aswell, same with rolling stock reskins on player trains. Another improvement that would be nice is an AC4400 model upgrade. It would be nice to have a more updated model with the whole rats nest of wires in the space in-front of the engineers control stand like it is on the real units, a correct circut breaker panel with the start bay moved to the right location with a DID panel (working or not), and small things like the windshield wipers slowing down in the center and correct SDIS textures. How a AC4400CW Circut Breaker panel looks with the DID display. A nice DLC idea for Sandpatch would be a Capitol Ltd trainset with Amtrak P42s. It would add passenger operations to the route, which brings up the unique challenge of train priority and dual speed limits on tracks. Another DLC idea that I've had is more modern CSX power, like ES44AHs or the newly rebuilt AC4400s that are GEVO-spec. One of CSX's rebuilt AC44CMs, which are basically ES44ACs that were repurposed out of AC4400s. A route idea that I think would look great in TSW is the Horseshoe Curve. The HSC has a nice variety of trains that head over the subdivision, as well as passenger ops, helper units, and a lot of switching space at NS Rose Yard. It would also be a very challenging route to run, with steep grades up to Gallitzin, with the way back down the other side being equally as challenging. For the route, it would be nice to have AC44C6Ms or D9-40CWs, and SD70ACUs or SD40Es for helper service. A nice variety of intermodal, coal, and manifest freight would really make the route shine and be operationally challenging to run. It would be nice to have the actual Horseshoe Curve park too, so you can walk around in the park and watch the timetable trains pass by as they would in real-time. It would also make TSW the 4th sim to have a full Horseshoe Curve route officially released for it (Open Rails/MSTS, Trainmaster 4.3, and Railworks being the first 3), and it would also make it the most detailed Horseshoe Curve route by default. An NS AC44C6M, which is starting to become one of the most abundant locomotives on NS' roster. These are identical to CSX's AC44CMs, but with a high headlight and numberboards, and in a NS Horsehead scheme.
I really want GE ET44ACs (in UP, CN, and CSX liveries, plus NS if we get an NS route) and/or BNSF ET44C4s. I also want UP, CSX, and EMD Demo SD70ACe-T4s. The Horseshoe Curve route needs to be made. Personally, I'd rather have HSC set in the 1950s with PRR diesels, or in the 70s, 80s, or 90s with Conrail diesels. For a modern HSC route, I'd also like to suggest an NS SD80MAC, SD70ACC, or SD70ACU.
Sure, everything would be great. What is not great is the cost of development and what it would mean for the company and the rest of the game. It would be phenomenal to have a model editor, that let's you customize what lights you want or whatever. What is not great is the fact that DTG would not only have to actually create said editor, they would also have to edit/recreate the existing assets to work with said editor. This would be very time consuming and not the best use of resources, resources that would be better off spent on more meaningful improvements. Same thing for the route, any new routes would be great, but with each route comes a boat load of logistics and legality issues which ultimately equals costs.
