Only 44km... Hope they're not expecting us to pay £30 for this, unless it delivers something exceptional.

Geeze a pricing "possible" complaint before the product and pricing are even announced?

The shortest route right now is Rhein-Ruhr Osten at 31 km, and next is the 46 km Duisburg - Bochum, so pretty much the same length as the latter. Numbers from Steam.

Possible new rolling stock ET 440 219 ?

Iow is even shorter at around 8 miles lol and it was only $5 cheaper than a standard route dlc.

No, DTG will be expecting you to pay whatever the sale price is when it reaches your level of perceived value. That’s why they have sales.

can't compare apples to oranges lol. If you are in a relationship, you are kinda required to spend money with them and take them on dates and stuff. Note that I'm single and not in a relationship, but you are expected to treat them on a date and spend money no matter how much it costs. You don't have to buy dlc if you don't want to cuz its more of a luxury. You don't "need" games.

According to leaked achievements, we will get at least a new version of the Br155, finally the N-Wagen with a cab car and as a cherry on top the Br110. So the route length plus new cars, a new loco and a renovated one should make up the price :D

I thought the roadmap listings were not in release order and more a list of what's being worked on..? But that's not to say they can't release in roadmap order..

Having read the other threads, it is probably yes. Makes sense. Have to give DTG credit for teasing with cryptic roadmaps. Way better than complete silence up until release. It's content in its own, I like it, and it's free ;)

It was confirmed by JD that the German route is first. The image is false, the full roadmap is the correct one.
Apparently, the image is false, as they put the new things to the top to be more visible (official explanation, I doubt it, as the TSG-route, is not in the top for 3rd-parties for example).

We apologise for the roadmap confusion, the correct order is German Route -> US Route -> US Loco from that list, in future graphics we will order the list solely by release date.

We should be seeing this German route announcement any day now...

It does promise to offer some older rolling stock and perhaps even Dosto-free. We have been asking for an older era German route for a while, and hopefully this will deliver with the DB BR 110.

    Cheers

You're late to the party. Steam and Playstation have already leaked the route on your behalf.

This is the worst kept secret since.. well the last DLC route, which in turn was the worst kept secret since the TSW3 announcement.

Right now it's pointless even keeping any eye out for any DTG announcements as anything juice will be discovered days before the announcement anyway.

Well to be honest, we still don’t know anything about the route except the endpoints and the rolling stock. There could be more rolling stock or layers, there could even be branch lines (not too unrealistic since the route is quite short and doesn’t have many stations). Still very excited for the announcement (hopefully today!) :D

For me as imortant to justify the dlc price is the train comes with. For example the birmingham crosscity line with this detailed class 323 is worth the entire money in my opinion.

Well as with BCC, it will be up to individuals to decide whether the asking price is worth paying for what's on offer. As others have commented, if it's £24.99 then I will be very tempted by the DB 110 and the N-stock and of course German routes do tend to be more polished and better presented than the UK ones. But when you consider both DCZ (the 612) and SKW (the ICE-1) gave us much longer routes with additional rolling stock, I really think they will be pushing credibility to ask £30 for this one. If they do, well I will buy eventually - in a sale next year sometime.

Short routes are not a problem, so long as the price reflects that. You wouldn't expect to pay the same for a 2 pint bottle of milk as 6 pints!

its not just one loco here, its one loco, a cabcar, a new rake of coaches and a new freight wagon & an upgraded 425.

Plus it gives us more ICE1 & 101, BR612 services along with a new liveried BR155.

I think in terms of game play & longevity the above more than makes up for the shortness of route and makes this better value than SKW. YMMV ofcourse.

Well I am very much wavering on the fence... Think we will see what Santa puts in my Steam Wallet, given there's also the mysterious "Christmas" route to consider and Simrail is knocking on the door, too.

Holiday Express, winter theme... Denver up through the Moffat Tunnel to Granby perhaps with a D&RGW set of F7s and the Snow Train?

I did make a joke in the TSC discord where the Holiday Express route was a weird collaboration of DTG and Bachmann trains that featured scale model versions of the ACS-64 and Acela Express (Both which Bachmann sells)

And it's not like the 2 companies haven't talked b4.
    Screenshot_20221129-135249_Facebook.jpg

I highly doubt it's the case, but would be a very cruel joke to the US crowd.

Thats not really the same thing though. Ideally the price should reflect development time (and cost) not route length.

DTG have said they spend around 6mo on a route. So what they make depends on what they can do in 6mo.

You can build alot of grass (sherman hill) and desert (cajon pass) in 6mo not so much cities (harlem).

They would also likely have a budget to stick to in order to maintain the current pricepoint. And because of the cost of living (operating a tech company) that budget wont produce as much as previous.

Well it's ac electric overhead so some of these would not work. Some dtg aren't able to obtain the license to. Only options really is njt and nec since dtg have the licenses there. But I'm guessing it's going to be nec so the us loco can get even more use out of it

New Jersey Transit uses the NEC from NYP to Trenton as part of their Northeast Corridor line, so a line there could reuse the ACS 64 and add the ALP46. Which means the ALP46 could be reused at a later date for a stand alone NJT route to Hoboken with a new NJT loco if DTG goes that route.

I am definitely guessing the new US route will take place somewhere along the NEC. Perhaps from New Haven to Boston, or New York to New Haven, or New York Penn to Washington DC. If it is New York Penn to Washington DC, this would be perfect for the Acela

Boston is already in game though so wouldn't it be new haven to providence? Since boston to providence is well at the very tip of the nec?

As far as the route goes, it is all up to the devs. They may surprise us for the route. It can either be what you suggested or any other stretch of the Northeast Corridor. It would be cool if they extend the Boston Sprinter route, with a bit of revamping in some areas and extend it further south to include the portion from Boston to New Haven. From what we know so far from the code on the roadmap, the new US AC electric loco will be expanded to a route that we currently have in TSW2/3 which makes me think either Acela/HHP-8/AEM7-AC, as either of these potential locomotives that will be featured on the Boston Sprinter route will also be featured in the new US route
