On every route in TSW2, when there is a stutter in the graphics, causing micro pauses or slowing down in the picture, many sounds that have a definite pitch are affected, whereby the pitch changes along with the stutter. This is true with many traction motor and horn sounds and a lot of running sounds. The changes in pitch can be very jarring and are one of the most annoying bugs in TSW2. This didn’t seem to be as much of a problem in TSW2020, where graphic stutters didn’t appear to affect the sound in the same way. Although it affects many sounds, it is most noticeable on the German locomotives that have a definite and prominent pitched drone at all times. These are almost unplayable at the moment due to this and other sound issues. Graphic stutters aren’t going to go away so could it be possible to eliminate whatever is linking the pitch changes to the graphic pauses? Constant pitch sounds need to play at a constant pitch to sound correct (minus any deliberate doppler effect, which is normal), whatever the graphics happen to be doing. Is it a core issue, as it appears affect a lot of routes and trains that have a noticeable pitch, or is it a separate issue with each train? I can’t make up my mind as there may be certain sounds that aren’t affected. Either way, it is a most annoying issue that could do with rectifying as it is making some content extremely unpleasant to play and has been an issue for a long time now. Thank you.
