Welcome to Australia. As part of the never-ending quest of trying to get more international routes, we have arrived in the southwest of the land down under. Running along the coast is the South Coast Line running from Sydney to Wollongon and further on to Bomaderry. The line is served both by passenger and freight services and connects the dense urban area of Sydney with the coal mine at Coalcliff, the goods port at Port Kembla, and the city of Wollongong.
With over 100km of track, it is on the longer end of route addons, but features a rich scenery and timetable. Therefore it is one of the most suited rail lines in Australia for TSW.

    Quick Facts:
Length: 110km (including Port Kembla and Cronulla branches)
    Max. Speed: 115km/h
    Track Gauge: 1435mm (Normal Gauge)
    Catenary Voltage: 1500V=
Signalling System: NSW Single & Double Colour Light
Safety System: Train Stop & NSW ATP (ETCS L1/LS based)

We start our journey in the east of Sydney at the underground station of Bondi Junction. We travel along the Eastern Suburbs line through Sydney Central to Redfern, where we leave the tunnels. We continue to Wolli Creek, where we part with the Airport & South Line. After Oatley we cross the Georges River and arrive at Sutherland, where the Cronulla branch (Commuter Pack) sections off. As we leave Sydney behind and drive along the edge of the Royal National Park, we arrive at Waterfall, where most Sydney Trains commuter services terminate. After Waterfall the line leads towards the shore and get's destinctivly more bendy. After passing through the city we reach Wollongong station. Services coming from Sydney continue onwards to Kiama, whilst Wollongong local services either terminate here or branch off towards Port Kembla, where this route ends.

    Rolling Stock:
    NSW TrainLink H Set (OSCAR)
Replacing the older V sets, the OSCAR is the main workhorse of the South Coast Line, operating the long services between Sydney and Kiama. They are also used on some of Sydney Trains commuter services.
It is planned that all current H sets on the line are replaced by D sets, and move the H sets to suburban services.

    Qube Holding QL class
Part of the C44aci family, the QL class is a one of the most common modern diesel locos on the entire Aussie rail network. Operated by Qube these trains took over the steelworks services from Pacific National in 2022.

    Optional Extras:
    Commuter Pack:
This pack includes the 10km long Cronulla branch and the Tangara train set. Branching off at Sutherland the line connects the 7 suburb stations in the main Sutherland Shire area with the main line. All Cronulla Line services stop between Bondi Junction and Redfern, and between Sutherland and Cronulla. All other stations vary in their stopping pattern.

    Sydney Trains T Set (Tangara)
Built form the late 80s to the late 90s, the T sets are the backbone of the Sydney Trains commuter services. These trains run both the commuter services between Bondi Junction to Waterfall and Cronulla, as well as the local services between Waterfall, Thirroul and Port Kembla.

    Freight Pack:

Expaning the included steelworks services, this pack will add the Class 81 operated by Pacific National, as well as Intermodal Cars. The South Coast line often sees Intermodals Main Southern Line when it's closed or no free slots are available.

    NSW Class 81
After the NR class, the Class 81 is the second most used locomotive type operated by PN. Built in the 1980s, these locos can be found all around New South Wales in almost every type of freight operations.
