Hi, I have not been in the forum for a while - due to personal issues -, so may be some of the things I noticed on SHS routes were already mentioned. I have few time so I am not able to check all the forum about it, so my apologies if any is repeated. > Speed changes on the High speed part of the route I get surprised when driving from the first time, when you have to start reducing speed for the 2 stops, the alert on the top right of the HUD about the new speed limit appeared, but you have not yet reached that speed limit, the HUD speed indicators shows you in yellow or even red, as you be on fault. But the through is you have not reach yet that limit. Finally you loose qualifications as you get silver medal instead of gold, I guess for this issue. Please find some images: As you can see at the top right the speed limits distance was yet ok, but the HUD shows the speed on yellow! The system on TGV - I do not have the TSW2 route - but I had on OR and also seen on videos, the 3 "diamond" speed limit on the train dashboard first blinks to alerts you about the speed limit change, until you reach that point, and then are fixed. On this route does not blink and as soon you receive the alarm about new speed limit, are fixed, and you are on the yellow and red zone on the HUD. Completely different on other trains and routes! > Problems with timetables: Some timetables it have a train in front of you. So you get 2 yellows and finally a red light. But this red light never changes! This is due to the train ahead is stopped at the station, it have green light, but never departs! I get this problem on 3 of the timetables I selected, so surely there will be more. Of course you can not continue with the activity. This is a sad situation. There you can see the map showing the train, and below the image of the train itself with the time as a reference, and the green light. > If you are on a station more time than required, the train behind yours, it stop just few meters behind! This is strange Have other forum members experienced what I mentioned? Part 2 below Regards
> This is a really minor issue, but just want to mention in order could be fixed. After saving a run, the name of the 395, become very long... These one are not exclusive of this routes. I happened on other ones too: > After loading a saved run, the dashboard instruments are blurred by around a minute or more. > "Invisible" red lights cancel the run, but the top right HUD shows a green light as the next one. This happened to me just in one Scenario planner on other route. But this happened on this route on a Scenario included on the route The message at the top left it indicates red light was passed so service was canceled There was no such red light visible on the route! > Sometimes - this not happen always, but I suffered this - only the top right indication about distance to stop it become almost invisible. So you do not know what is the distance left to the next stop. This happened also when resuming a saved load You can see there also the blurred instruments as mentioned before. > Finally an issue I reported before, but not seen on the Roadmap yet, it is an important one: When you create a new Scenario using the Planner tool, then you must save the game as you can not finish it at that time. When you recovery, the time, is the start time of the scenario, not the time where you where running it! This is a big issue due to, other trains start running at the programmed time. But with this issue they will run late, as you have advanced on the route, but the time not! So you will find most of them stopped and not running as it might be Regards
I too have had the almost invisible distance marker, but i had paused the game for about 10 minutes, not loaded in a save. So slightly different, but still the same problem
I am confident to say that I don't get reduced points when having the yellow marker indicating that I need to slow down. Usually I try to maximize the speed under the allowed speed and look on my points closely, so I am sure I would have noticed. And since I play with safety systems activated, I had my fair share of emergency brakes for being only 5 mph too fast at the speed change flags. The other issues I have not encountered personally, but especially the issues with the red signals seem awful. Lastly regarding reloading a save, unfortunately I had to learn quite early on that saving should be avoided in TSW,it breaks the game far too often. Not only reloading services but simply clicking the save button has rendered lots of services unplayable for me with trains stuck at stations, markers not counting and red lights never turning to green. It is a bummer but I would recommend to commit to a service and play it in one sitting to reduce probability of issues...
Hi mclitke I have used the safety systems on German routes, but never used on UK ones. If it is just an alerter every "x" time period (seconds or minutes), I do not like these kind of systems. But if it is related on speed restrictions an signals like german ones yes. Where can I found a tutorial about those UK systems? Thank you for your help in advance Regards
Hi! English safety systems are rather easy to understand imo. I don't have a tutorial link ready, but it is basically like this: 1. Drivers vigilance is a timed system that you need to acknowledge (like sifa) 2. DRA is a manual system that you would activate when standing and that blocks the throttle. You would deactivate it before applying power. 3. AWS is a system that warns you if there is a signal change ahead. When you come close to a yellow signal the sound will appear and you need to acknowledge it. There is a "flower" in front of you that lights up after acknowledging, reminding you that you confirmed a signal change. It turns off when passing a certain magnet i believe.
Thanks for the explanation. That is how they works, which is needed But how do you activate them? As on german ones you have to turn it on, with some switch, which usually is not in the control desk. You have to wake up and turn it on.
In the class 395, behind the drivers seat near to the door to the passenger compartment is a bank of switches/keys. Hover over them and you will see vigilance, DSD, TPWS. You can then activate them. For the TVM system, there's a control cabinet near the door behind the secondmans seat. Open the cabinet and there's 2 switches. One is TVM and I can't remember the other one. In the class 375, the safety systems keys are located on a panel to the side of the secondmans seat. It's the same process with turning the keys.
