Hi All, We are finally ready to publish Phase 6 of South Lancashire & North Cheshire which will add the Atherton Line ( Manchester Victoria to Wigan ) and a short stretch of the Bolton line covering Agecroft Colliery and Power Station - details have been provided to our 2 hosts, either they or I will let you know when you will be able to download. All new scenarios specifically created for Phase 6 have been tested so there should be no issues, just replace any stock that you might not have. The route itself has been intensively tested but we obviously cannot check every nook and cranny and that every signal works in all traffic situations, so please report anything that you find in this thread and we will release a patch as soon as we can or confirm that we have been unable to resolve - the Manual lists a couple of known issues. I would like to thank Steve Price, who is now my co-creator and has done so much work on track and signalling, Richard Wesson who has created a couple of scenarios and tested all of mine ad nauseum and of course the late Nick Hudson who created the base for Phase 6 on which Steve and I have built and completed the route, this Phase is dedicated to Nick's memory. We hope you enjoy this Phase of the route - any scenario creators please feel free to create scenarios and share. Andy

Hi Andy I’ve only been playing TS for about a year and downloaded this today. Installed all versions in order per your instructions and no issues. Now I just need to swap out all the stock I don’t own yet , but that’s a minor thing. Thanks for this, looks to be a massive route. Great work!
Thanks - glad that you are enjoying it. Just to let everyone know that there a few "missing asset" issues in Phase 6 as we inadvertently used a few non-standard assets which had not been included in previous bat files, we are working through these and will release a patch as soon as we can. Andy
Andy I just wanted to say that you've done an amazing job with Phase 6, I had four days booked off work last week for an unrelated reason and instead of doing what I had planned to do I ended up spending all four days reliving my youth going up & down the Atherton line. Even with the missing canopies it really didn't detract from the experience, the level of detail be it the correct inclusion of sewer pipes running under certain road bridges or the fact I could easily identify the two houses I grew up in along the line is something else! I later discovered that there was scenery all the way between Preston & Crewe so having dived into the editor to put in some QD paths I spent the remainder of the week racing up and down the WCML in 86s & 87s with the odd double Tractor pairing for good measure. Take a good rest before stating on Phase 7, you've and the team have earned it
Thanks for the kind words - the patches have been released now which resolve missing canopies and other issues. There is also scenery between Manchester Victoria and Liverpool Lime Street too, also down as far as Chester - Phase 7 will cover Huyton to Ince Moss via St Helens where there is rough trackwork in place but much of it will need relaying. Hi, I am a massive fan of this route, mainly as I live in Cheshire so know these lines well. It says that the Legacy Version of the North Wales coast route is now required, but do these in turn require the original official version of the route? If so, how can I get this? Cheers.
Was doing some track edits to replace some of the 2D track on the route but the game dumps the moment I try and save any track edits and it corrupts the track bin file. Does the same on a clone of the route.
That is because I set the track files to read-only as I kept wrecking the track during complex scenery creation, you should be able to change that on your copy. You have probably figured this out already but to recover from this just copy over the tracks.bin file that you originally downloaded with the route. Andy

Did you check that it had accepted your change to read/write? Only thing I can think of is that you might not have the permissions to change the attributes - if so let me know I can copy the files, change the attributes, and we can figure out how I can get the amended files to you. Andy
No luck I'm afraid, when I remove the read-only attribute and go back into the folder it has set it again - I can get a read/write version of the track from Steve but he is away for a couple of weeks. Andy
