I could have done that but DTG lost the Arriva license so I didn't have a choice in the matter in doing it in the modern day, I thought Cardiff-Swansea wasn't electrified yet ;)

Nice to see you back in the new year mate!
As always a brilliant and informative suggestion which I would love to see come to the game. Though there are people who wouldn't touch them with a barge-pole I have warmed to the 80xs or whatever you want to call them and would love to see them in game as in the past few years they have become a staple of Inter-City services and played a big role in improving the network.

Very good suggestion mate! Although I have absolutely no aspirations of taking the risk and crossing the border into wales there are some good hills there! Also the Azumas one of my favourite trains and if this route was built we could put the Azumas on an ECML route and have the best modern trains on the best route in the country!

Great suggestion just wondering does the class 175 do stopping services on the line or jsut semi fast as I know it as a express train. Also just letting you know that the route can be extended as it is currently 34 miels so if you want it to go to Carmarthen or bristol it would work.

Why not run this to Bristol just like the train simulator classic version South Wales Coastal. Owners of the route might get a 2017 timetable for Great Western Mainline if applicable

Thanks mate, I said I was going to be back :)

I'm sure people would complain about the 80x being added so that's why the HST from GWE is layered on to keep everyone happy ;)

Funnily enough, I left Cardiff-Bristol out for that reason, a future expansion into Temple Meads would be a great addition, or you could do Carmarthen, Pembroke Dock and Fishguard Harbour ;)

I saved Bristol for a future extension of the route which would come with the likes of 170s, 220s, 221s etc. :)

    Haha yes you did!
Yeah having both the 80xs and HST would give the best of both worlds so would be the best option.
