I am suggesting to Include part of the South Western Mainline from London Waterloo - Bournemouth and 5 branch lines. Route Information Operated By South Western Railway (SWR) Mainline from London Waterloo to Bournemouth (108 Miles) Branch lines from Waterloo to the following destinations: Dorking, Guildford (Via Cobham & Stoke D'abernon), Chessington South, Shepperton and Hampton Court. Proposed Route (Highlighted Sections only) Rolling Stock Class 458/4 Class 455/8 Class 450 Class 444 Possible Scenarios: 'Racecourse Shuttle' There is a horse race event at Kempton Park Racecourse and you are tasked to drive a Class 458 from Waterloo to Shepperton calling at all stations on the way. But be warned, its a busy service and passengers may be up to mischief. 'Tourist Traction' Its the Easter holidays, and many tourists are visiting Hampton Court Palace, take control of a Class 455 to Hampton Court calling at all stations. Its a busy day today, so keep your eyes on the signals! 'Country Run' Its a stormy and rather slippery day, and your driving a Class 450 to Dorking. Speed restrictions have been put in place around Leatherhead due to flooding. Take it slowly and stick to the timetable as much as you can! 'Summer Service' Its the summer holidays! Many people are excited to spend a day at Bournemouth Beach. Try your best to make it to Bournemouth in time! 'Ending Early' You've been paired with a set of Class 455s to take down to Chessington South, calling at all stops on the way. But a portion of the third rail near Chessington South is under maintenance so instead, you'll be terminating at Chessington North. 'Guilford Run' Drive a 8 Car set of Class 458s down to Guildford from Waterloo Via Cobham and Stoke D'abernon, calling at all scheduled stops along the way. Timetable Services (Not complete timetables, only showing what routes can be driven on each train in timetable mode) Class 455 London Waterloo - Dorking (8 car) London Waterloo - Guildford (Via Cobham and Stoke D'abernon) (8 Car) London Waterloo - Chessington South (4 Car) London Waterloo - Shepperton (8 Car) London Waterloo - Hampton Court (8 Car) London Waterloo - Woking (Via Weybridge) (8 Car) Dorking - London Waterloo (8 Car) Guildford - London Waterloo (Via Cobham and Stoke D'abernon) (8 Car) Shepperton - London Waterloo (8 Car) Hampton Court - London Waterloo (8 Car) Woking - London Waterloo (Via Weybridge) (8 Car) Chessington South - London Waterloo (4 Car( Class 458 London Waterloo - Dorking (8 Car) London Waterloo - Woking (Via Weybridge) (8 Car) London Waterloo - Guildford (Via Cobham and Stoke D'abernon) (8 Car) London Waterloo - Shepperton (8 Car) London Waterloo - Hampton Court (8 Car) Dorking - London Waterloo (8 Car) Guildford - London Waterloo (Via Cobham and Stoke D'abernon) (8 Car) Shepperton - London Waterloo (8 Car) Hampton Court - London Waterloo (8 Car) Woking - London Waterloo (Via Weybridge) (8 Car) Class 450 London Waterloo - Guildford (Via Woking) (8 Car) London Waterloo - Basingstoke (12 Car) London Waterloo - Shepperton (4 Car) London Waterloo - Southampton Central (12 Car) London Waterloo - Hampton Court (4 Car) London Waterloo - Woking (8 Car) London Waterloo - Woking (Via Weybridge) (8 Car) Bournemouth - St Denys (8 Car) Bournemouth - Southampton Central (8 Car) Guildford - London Waterloo (Via Woking) (8 Car) Basingstoke - London Waterloo (12 Car) Shepperton - London Waterloo (4 Car) Southampton Central - London Waterloo (12 Car) Hampton Court - London Waterloo (4 Car) Woking - London Waterloo (8 Car) Woking - London Waterloo (Via Weybridge) (8 Car) St Denys - Bournemouth (8 Car) Southampton Central - Bournemouth (8 Car) Class 444 London Waterloo - Bournemouth (10 Car) London Waterloo - Basingstoke (5 Car) Bournemouth - London Waterloo (10 Car) Basingstoke - London Waterloo (5 Car) Depots Wimbledon Strawberry Hill Bournemouth Other Add On Layers Rush Hour: Brighton Commuter, for AI class 377/4 and 387 in and around Clapham Junction Station Thameslink Class 700, For AI services in and around Wimbledon. Thank you very much for reading.
This is a very detailed suggestion! And although I am not familiar with this route, it is a very popular suggestion amongst TSW fans. I really like this suggestion!
Probably wouldn't get the full line and all branches, but may get away with the small branch to Guildford with the route.
Yes, that is a possibility. But in my opinion, most of the branches are vital in this route so that it can be a proper commuter route. It also has the opportunity to have a large timetable for most branches so that there's a lot to do on the route apart from go to Bournemouth. But if all 5 branches aren't an option, than Id say that the Guildford, Hampton Court and Shepperton are the most important.
Also I suggest the route be London Waterloo - Guilford & Basingstoke with the Shepperton, Hampton Court, Chessington South and Dorking/ Guildford via Epsom lines. A 455 and 450 would be a viable suggestion seeing as we are in an era of 1 train per route.
I feel like if you’re going to include the WAT-GLD you might aswell make the route to portsmouth, that way thay have less scenery to work on and Guildford can be both a stop gap and a terminus
I think it would have to be one or the other. Waterloo to Woking and some branches or Waterloo to Southampton main line. I don't think it would go as far as Bournemouth. The TSC version of the the SWML was just the bit between Bournemouth and Southampton, a TSW version isn't going to be longer. It's a shame but that's TSW for you.
SWR is definitely needed. I would particularly enjoy the route to Portsmouth Harbour but as long as they recreate the section around Waterloo, I will take it.
A great suggestion. However, with SWML as service intensive as BML, it is unlikely to be Waterloo to Bournemouth plus branches without running into memory issues. This route will probably need to be broken up into multiple parts in order to function effectively.
SWML is a good route for TSW, it has a lot of branches, five different trains, many potential layers and BML level service density and diversity. 108 miles is too long for a TSW route but they select one section of this route like London Waterloo- Basingstoke or Southampton Central-Bournemouth. But SWML has license problem: it is operated by SWR, a TOC owned by Firstgroup (70%) and MTR Corporation (30%), and it is hard to get their license ( Rivet had tried when they made IOW 2022 but failed), so maybe setting during SWT period would better just like MML is set during EMT period, instead EMR. SWML is still a good choice for TSW despite potential license issue, and I hope we can see the SWML in future
I'm not even joking, but this is needed as much as WCML for the layers. For the devs, since we've begun getting this much hype, if you release this route I could guarantee your sales would go up. Im not sure how many trains would be included but it would definitely be either a class 450 or 444: both would be appreciated.
450 would be more suitable if they were only gonna pick one as they go everywhere regional wise and a few suburban routes too
Way to long I think.. but Portsmouth direct from waterloo more realistic as almost on par with BML. Portsmouth also has iconic landmarks like spin- tower and the legendary harbour with hms warrior. Slamdoor era would be ideal due to swr not playing ball with licence or what not. Network south east type era.
Yes Yes Yes! New operator, new kind of area in TSW, new kind of trains! With the addition of the 5 branches we can have alot of area's to explore and drive to!
That would be incredible to have the current day Portsmouth Direct line but that is highly unlikely as you mentioned the licensing issues
