Ive thought hard about this route suggestion, after reviewing Portsmouth Direct Line requests for TSW, Anything beyond Woking seems to far fetched due to FPS Issues, and the frequency of services required to make the route busy simply would be to much. Therefore this is my new proposed idea to get SWR Content into the game. Firstly, Routes: Alton - Woking via Bentley, Farnham, Aldershot, Ash Vale, and Brookwood and then Woking, this route would take around 40 minutes with all stops. Aldershot - Ascot via Ash Vale, Frimley, Camberley, Bagshot and then Ascot. Woking - Haslemere via Worplesdon, Guildford, Farncombe, Godalming, Milford, Witley and Haslemere Ascot - Guildford via Bagshot, Camberley, Frimley, Ash Vale, Aldershot (Switch Ends) Platform 3 - Ash, Warnborough, Guildford As seen these routes are generally short on stops, however are incredibly scenic, and feature many services, condensed into a small area. They also are pretty decent Length Wise with Alton - Woking being around 40 Minutes, Aldershot to Ascot around 25-30, Woking to Haslemere around 25 aswell and Guildford to Ascot around 50. This area of the network is open to create such great scenarios, ill list a few I thought through. Football Mayhem - Aldershot v Woking takes place on a Clear Saturday at 3pm, Fans travel from Alton upwards, collecting passengers from Bentley, Farnham, Aldershot, Ash Vale and Brookwood, Your responsible for getting the fans there on time, following a strict timetable and possible delays. (increased passengers) Problems Ahead - Bentley is a diverse station in the middle of the hampshire countryside, trains stop there hourly due to the single track between Farnham and Alton, however today works are taking place on Platform 2, meaning that side of the line in shut, it means the line is entirely 1 track from Farnham to Alton, trains must now wait at either Farnham or Alton until one another arrives, delays to services means its stop start all the way to Alton. Constant yellow and red signals to keep you focused. Back and Fourth - Today your working the Class 701 Between Guildford and Ascot via Aldershot, at Aldershot you must switch end and give way to priority traffic to Alton and London Waterloo, you head to Ascot and then Return, taking around 1 Hour 40 minutes total. Early Start - You spawn at Guildford Sidings, where you will bring a 4 Car 450 Into Service, you will then head into Guildford Station where you will couple to another 4 car unit, switch ends, and head up to woking, and run down to Portsmouth Harbour (as far as Haslemere) I appreciate this is long, and these are all ideas, however there a lot of opportunity in this route, with Class 450's and the new 701's, and the hilly, scenic countryside. Alton also has a opportunity with uncontrollable AI running the watercress line with Steam or Diesel Locomotives running hourly. This also adds a chance to create a Heritage run from Guildford to Alton as Flying Scotsman lets say, where you get to shunt the Loco onto Platform 3 at Alton. Also it allows for a lot of switching in Free Roam, with this focusing on 4 mini routes, instead of 1 route. and no, its not TSW Without freight services, which is perfect as Holybourne oil reserve just out of Alton receives Daily Deliveries, where services have to head into the Sidings there to deliver oil. I am also aware of licensing issues also a factor, however this is as said a base idea. This isnt perfect, just a very overthought idea, let me know what you think.
