I would like to suggest the routes from London Waterloo to Epsom, Chessington South and Hampton Court.
    The Route
Leaving Waterloo, we would pass Clapham Junction and Wimbledon then along to Raynes Park. At this point the first line splits to Epsom and Chessington South. The line to Chessington South peels off after Motspur Park with the other line continuing to Epsom and beyond.
Back at Raynes Park the mainline continues until shortly after Surbiton with the Hampton Court branch peeling off the mainline.
    Rolling Stock
Various eras can be chosen from including slam door express and local classes on to PEP units like classes 445, 446, 507, 508 then onto classes 159, 455, 456 and 442 with more recent classes like 444 and 450. Locomotive classes such as 33, 47, 50 and 73 with mainly Mk2 coaches and class 66 and others with freight trains to Tolworth.
