Route Information 37 Stops in total 5 Branches 750v DC 3rd Rail electrification Mostly in the London Fare Zone (Excluding part of Dorking Branch) Route Map: (HIGHLITED AREAS ONLY) GREEN: London Waterloo - Chessington South (40 - 50 mins) YELLOW: London Waterloo - Dorking (50 mins - 1 hour) PURPLE: London Waterloo - Hampton Court (35 - 40 mins) BLUE: London Waterloo - London Waterloo *Richmond Loop* (1 hour - 1 hour 10 mins) MAGENTA: London Waterloo - Hounslow (40 - 50 mins) Rolling Stock Class 458/5 'Cordia Juniper' - used on commuter routes in South West and West London along with the class 455 Class 455/8 Fact! The 455/8 is the oldest of the 3 sub classes. Built In 1983. The class 455 family are the backbone of the suburban network. They are the most reliable ex-BR units in the UK*. Possible add on layers Southern 377's in and around Clapham Junction, Epsom and Dorking. Thameslink 700s in and around Wimbledon Gatwick Express 387 in and around Clapham Junction (Semi-Fictional) London Overground 710's in and around Clapham Junction and Richmond Overall, I think that having another busy, tight scheduled British commuter route based in London is a MUST for TSW 5 and the SWR suburban network is a great place to start! Rugby fans in and out from Twickenham stadium, Tourists traveling to Hampton Court Palace and Chessington World Of Adventures. The morning and evening rush hour with commuters flying in from Surrey and Into the City. The scenario possibilities are endless! That brings us to the end of my suggestion, once again, thank you very much for reading! *Which Are Still Operating Passenger Services
That's unfortunate, I would at least expect some effort to be put in. It'd be like the South London Network of TSW5! If you mean complexity as in - AI trains and Buildings, DTG could do what they did with the Brighton Commuter and have little to no AI services which included separate add ons.
It would make a great route; complexity not withstanding. You'll find Class 159 at the weekend Woking via Barnes bridge and on to Waterloo, when they're doing track maintenance lung. Jack's correct it would need thinning out for Dovetail to consider it. This and the Metropolitan would be my most wanted Tsw routes. It's a personal favourite route after the West Coast mainline. Thanks.
I'd honestly pay a premium of £49.99 if we had all the branches included which I believe is a fair price if we was going to have some exclusivity to this route and with the amount of different routes that you could take this would be a phenomenal step into train sim world
I looked at the southwestern route on youtube and it would be a good suggestion too! would like to see those trains and class 444 and 450 as a addon locos
Yes a super complex area would be terrific. Not against a premium priced route,I can't see how even the latest gen consoles would handle Unless like Road rash on the 3do, you'd load the route as polygons and stream the textures as you made progress. Don't like the consoles being left out,it could poison the chalice if it couldn't work for them.I know the whole area quite well from a railway point of view,it'd probably take a year to make, would that make it too much of a gamble.Software houses ,e.g.Looking Glass is a good example of what can happen. And I'm sure it could be made just as pictured in the map.Afterall money talks. £30 for a premium locomotive, why not £50 for an ultra complex route. Ram on a pc is never a issue, you can just buy more if needed. Perhaps tsw6 could kickstart a new more capable graphics engine with something like this.
Could Do Southampton - Woking with the lines to portsmouth and reading (and other branches) still as a more expensive route
If anything comes from the southwestern lines it's probably going to be either the Portsmouth direct or London Waterloo to Southampton (SWML)
I fully agree i feel like they should start with Waterloo - chessington route first then bring the rest in the future
I hope they could really push for licensing for this route and adding this or anything further would be insane. I'm assuming we will get a crazy route great route, but we will have to wait until September/October time but I believe something like would blow up like WCML as it has so much variation to play. I would 100% buy this day one
It’d be nice if we got two SWR routes, one network like you suggest and one full length like the portsmouth direct (maybe including GLD newline) regardless this is a nice suggestion although being in london it’s quite a high scope
With an addition of SWR, hopefully that might lead too AI finally on the Brighton commuter pack and vice versa as Clapham Junction just feels empty without the SWR services!
I've was overlooking this again, I was actually considering this could be a great route for TSW and this could essentially be a goldmine for their marketing team too, if it was going to go ahead. To have less linear route's and more options of variations & different route's to travel on, this will open up hours of gameplay and even expand the market for casual gamers too
