Running the class 31 on a semi fast in winter blizzard and at 08:04:30 stopping at Southall the sky is still pitch black, but the platform lights are off
Service 2N03 London Paddington

 

Platform lights (in game) are run on a fixed timer without regard to actual visibility.

 

Then either they could look to use realtime lights on and off info (easily obtainable) or have it that when the sky box is dark the lights are on
