Southend Line: London Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria Introduction: The London Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria line is a 25kV AC Overhead electrified commuter railway connecting the city of London to the seaside town of Southend via the Great Eastern Main Line, branching off at Shenfield. The line has a very busy timetable with multiple service patterns, and varied scenery from the suburbs of London to open countryside of Essex. This route would provide the eastern segment of Crossrail's Elizabeth line, a much requested and well known modern metro line in London, as well as two new train types of the Aventra family. The route should include both the new Class 345 and Class 720, these being similar in design to the Class 710 and operating the majority of playable services. The Class 315 and Class 321 could feature in an expansion pack, substituting into the existing timetable or creating a separate backdated timetable. The route should be set in the modern day, subject to licensing with Greater Anglia and TfL. Alternatively the route could be set in the mid 90's using the Class 315 and Class 321 in Network SouthEast livery. The Route: -London Liverpool Street to Shenfield, 20 miles. The main section of the route featuring a four track main line throughout, currently acting as the eastern end of the Elizabeth line using the Class 345 with services entering and exiting the Crossrail core from a tunnel south of Stratford. On the fast lines, Greater Anglia operate fast and semi-fast services calling at Stratford, Romford and Shenfield only, primarily with the Class 720. -Shenfield to Southend Victoria, 22 miles. A branch of the GEML heading to Southend Victoria via Wickford. Currently operated by Greater Anglia using the Class 720 and until recently the Class 321, with services heading through to London Liverpool Street. -Wickford to Southminster, 16 miles. A branch of the Southend Victoria line also known as the Crouch Valley Line, largely single track with one passing loop. Services are operated by Greater Anglia with the Class 720. -Romford to Upminster, 3 miles. This short single track branch connects passengers from the GEML to the London, Tilbury and Southend Line via a single intermediate stop at Emerson Park. Currently operated by London Overground using the Class 710. Route Map Services: -London Liverpool Street to Shenfield, 45 minutes. 8 trains per hour. Fantastic suggestion, I think having a commuter route like this out of London Liverpool Street would do really well and route mileage is a doable length and if the timetable is spot on, it could turn into another 'London Commuter'-esque route but on the GEML rather than the BML
Certainly, subject to the TOCs being licensed this could easily be one of the busiest routes in-game!
I am a modern kind of guy but I would love this to be set in the days of the 315s 321s and 90s. BUT for the sake of layers and services modern is good so the 710 can layer
Great route. It would be an extremely fun route and multiple people have reccomended this on the forums.
GEML was one of my favourite routes in TSC to having an equivalent route in TSW would be fantastic. If set in 2022 then both the 315/321 and 345/720 can feature in the same timetable with layers for the 710
I would love the various train models. I always wished that one day the routes from Train Simulator would feature in TSW4 but that is highly unlikely. I think that the graphics appear to better in Train Sim world than the graphics I have seen on videos of TSC. I would especially love the section on the GEML between Shenfield and Liverpool Street the most
Partly the reason for choosing Southend over ending at Colchester or Ipswich is because that section of line doesn't feature in TSC, so for those of us who play both sims, we would still have somewhere completely new to explore.
I would not like the Wickford route but I would like the London Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria route
Wait, if you think about it, if you own sehs + upcoming GOBLIN you can technically do Wanstead Park - Purfleet
