We have the Peninsula Corridor in TSW and TS Classic. The versions in the games are modern-day routes, but set before Caltrans added electrification to the route. I'd love to see this route backdated to the 1950s-70s with Southern Pacific power handling commuters out of San Francisco. The SP Peninsula Corridor could also run all the way to Gilroy, adding more trackage. Also, we should get some freight operations on this new route. -Locomotives to include: The SP version of the Peninsula Commute line in the 1950s-70s had some interesting locomotives, including Alcos and FMs. 1.) SP Fairbanks-Morse (FM) H-24-66 Trainmaster: SP rostered 14 of these big FM diesels with their unique opposed-piston prime movers. They had rapid acceleration and high horsepower, making them great for handling commuter services. SP used these until the mid-1970s when they were scrapped and replaced by SDP45s. The SP Trainmasters would come in both Black Widow and Bloody Nose liveries. 2.) SP EMD GP9(E): 11 of these EMD diesels supplemented the FM Trainmasters. These had torpedo tubes on the top of the body. One GP9E (#3187) was painted in the Rainbow scheme, which should be included in game, along with Black Widow and Bloody Nose-liveried versions, too. 3.) SP Alco RS-32: SP had 10 of these units. They were often used in local freight and yard duties on the Peninsula Commuter line. One of their jobs was rescuing stalled trains, which could be a fun operation if this route is added to TSW5. 4.) SP Alco S-4 Switcher: SP used these along with their RS-32s in switching duties. -DLCs: 1.) SP SDP45: These 10 EMDs replaced the FM Trainmasters in the mid-1970s. 2.) SP GP40P-2: SP had 3 of these steam generator-equipped GP40-2s on their roster. A couple of these engines are still in operation. 3.) Amtrak GE P30CH ("Pooch"): SP leased 15 of these from Amtrak in 1978. -Rolling Stock: -SP Harriman Passenger Cars -SP Suburban Cars -SP Bi-level Gallery Cars -SP Cabooses -SP Freight equipment -SP MOW equipment
