So, while I know this would be kind of a overambitious idea for the upcoming Tehachapi Route, I though I could speculate what could be used for a Retro Pack for Tehachapi for Southern Pacific Equipment if one was to be made. I'm mostly sticking to an 80's to early 90's era for this suggestion.

NOTE: All locomotive suggestions are models that are already found in game.

    GP9/E
1st up would be the GP9, while we already have this in game with 2 different DLC's, the textures on the Donner Pass version are not good, and the GP9 pack isn't available outside the US.

The GP9's and their rebuilds GP9E's were used for quite a long time on the SP, being used from their initial delivery date, till the end in 1996.

Paint could be the usual Bloody Nose, as well as the SPSF Kodachrome paint. 9 units received the Kodachrome paint.

    SD9/E
Another long time survivor of SP's roster, the SD9's would be another candidate for this pack, using the DRGW SD9 as a base.

Like the GP9, the SD9 lasted from their delivery date till 1996, going thru rebuild programs as well, being rebuilt into SD9E's

Like the GP9's the same paintschemes would be used for these locomotives, Bloody nose and Kodachrome.

    GP35/R
Why not a 3 for 3? The GP35 has been used for both WM and Chessie retro packs, so they could return here with the proper SP setup. SP Subsidiary Cotton Belt also had a few GP35's delivered to them as well. Some were rebuilt into GP35R's.

An SP and SSW could be offered, with a few of the SP units getting Kodachrome as well. (Only 3 got speed letter, so no go there)

    GP40-2

Its surprising this was never offered in DTG's original GP40-2 pack. Southern Pacific had 6 orders of GP40-2's, with 4 going to the SP, and the other 2 to SSW, for a total of 126 units.

Paint could be offered in standard SP, SSW and/or Speed Lettering.

    SD40T-2
Another Donner Pass locomotive that is in a severe need of an upgrade.

Paint for these can be Standard, Kodachrome, and Speed Lettering

    SD40R

Using the CRR SD40 as a base, a Southern Pacific SD40R could be made for it.

All 86 surviving Southern Pacific SD40's got the rebuild, and could come in standard Bloody nose, Speed Lettering and Kodachrome.

    SD40M-2
And oddball of a suggestion, but in the early 1990's SP had ordered 133 SD40M-2's from Morrison Knunderson, but MK had to supply the carbodies. This lead to 3 different units being used for these rebuilds. SD40's, SD45's, and SDP45's.

This suggestion would only focus on either the 40 SD40's, or the 87 SD45's that were not modified with GP40 rear ends. All of these were delivered in Speed Lettering Paint.

    SD50
Of the 17 DRGW SD50's that came to the SP after the 1988 merger, about 7 were repainted into SP Scarlet and Grey with the Speed Lettering font (with DRGW sublettering) This would use DTM's SD50's as a base, with very minimal changes to the model.

    GP60
The last domestically built Geeps to date, Southern Paciifc were the last railroad to order them, with SP 9794 being the last one built by EMD.

The models would be the Phase II version, with both Speed Lettering and SSW being options for the GP60.

    Rolling Stock
Rolling stock may be a bit harder to produce, as some cars would need to be made from scratch or heavily modified from existing models.

    89ft Autorack (SP/SSW)

85ft/89ft TOFC Flatcar (45ft Golden Pig Service Trailers)

    57ft Reefers PFE (White/Orange)

    Bulkhead Flatcar (Lumber)

Quick question, who owns Kodachrome? UP or BNSF? (I hope the former).

I think it depends on whos Sub lettering is on the side of the locomotive.
I don't know who owns the actual rights to the combined SPSF ones.

Also DTM already has 1 Kodachrome Loco in game via the SD45T-2 pack, so licensing shouldn't be an issue.

We are getting some new U-Boats for Donner Pass, so those could be included. I'd also suggest an SP FM Trainmaster (Black Widow or Bloody Nose), GP20, GP30, C44-9W, Daylight Alco PA-1/PA-2 A/B, E7, E8, E9, F7/P7/F7B (Black Widow or Bloody Nose), and/or Alco RSD-15.

Would be lovely to see more SP content, considering the current amount of it. Maybe there is going to be something like this in the future.

I would really like to see an updated Gp9 model with an updated cab with opening windows and doors to use on other routes as well! TruRail updated the RSC Gp9 in SP which would great for this route, but it still has a very aged cab.

I want the ATSF locos, too. Also, a new Cab Forward is a must for steam/transition era SP.

This is absolutely what is needed. We need this retro pack. This is the best LOVE suggestion I've ever come across.

Not sure what to do about the rolling stock now, the boxcars, bulkhead flats, 3 bay hoppers and woodchip hoppers were all used for Shasta.

Guess Ill add Vert-A-Pac's and Stac-Pac's to the list. Throw in the Auto Parts boxcar too.
