TLDR: west Coastway merged with BML and east Coastway: Portsmouth and littlehampton: class 377, 387: summer bundle Having played the BML a lot more recently, I realised that it deserves a tod4 upgrade, which led me to think- if one line gets an upgrade, then it’s probably worth upgrading east Coastway as well, being such a popular route. There’s been many requests for the keymer branch to Lewes and the 2 routes to be merged, and also lots of requests for the west Coastway. Maybe it could be part of the summer release? The network of the 3 lines would bring more variety than any other tsw route to date, and be worth every penny. The traction would be that of the class 377 and 387, which both operate on each of the 3 lines. I understand the argument that we don’t need another southern line, but many of the recent UK routes have all been set in the north, and the west Coastway provides a different experience. BML is a blend of the countryside into the capital, east Coastway is pretty much all countryside towns, but west Coastway is constant suburban travel along the south coast. The new stations would be as follows: Hove Aldrington Portslade Fishersgate Southwick Shoreham by sea Lancing East Worthing Worthing West Worthing Durrington on sea Goring by sea Angmering Ford Barnham Littlehampton, a branchline terminal Chichester Havant Fratton Portsmouth and southsea Portsmouth Harbour Services: The main station on the west Coastway in between Brighton and Portsmouth is Worthing. Services from Worthing are as follows: 2 tph to and from London vic and littlehampton 5 tph to and from Brighton to Southampton/chichester/west Worthing/portsmouth This line would make a great inclusion as part of the summer bundle due to the variety it’d bring to the two existing tsw southern rail routes
Highly doubt the route editor would permit merging. BML already on the limit of what the game engine can deal with as testified by the fact issues such as unfinished Reigate and missing track at Redhill never patched. They didn’t even fill in missing lineside fencing on the Quarry Line.
BML just needs the 700 (along with various fixes to the route) and it would be perfect (as well as the branch to Hove for some Gatwick Express ECS services and maybe the line from Wivelsfield to Lewes).
Can you imagine the services list in the timetable menu for the 377 if this was a thing? It already takes 20 minutes to scroll through it (on PS5) for the London Commuter route.
I did suggest a page up/down option for controllers to get through the list quicker but it fell on deaf ears.
