Spelling Mistakes & Other Localisation Faults - German

Of course, I'll post everything in English even though I'm playing with German texts.
The first mistake is right on the very start of the Schnellfahrstrecke, where you're greeted like "Willkommen auf dem Schnellfahrstrecke ...", and that's the wrong article - it has to be "auf der Schnellfahrstrecke".

I will attach everything I find in this thread.
And all other German players are welcome to contribute as well.

There is one thing that fits in here, although it is actually not a spelling mistake, but rather a colloquial description.
On the RSN route the scenario "Returning Empty" has one objective that reads like "Activate the battery by holding it for 5 seconds."
It has also been translated quite literally, but I would prefer the description to be a bit more precise, because we are not supposed to hold the battery but press the start button.

Edit: This has been observed in TSW2020, but I wanted to mention it before the route is released as part of the preserved collection.

 

I did some trainings on SPG today and this is what I found:

The description of this route reads "..., klettern Sie über den Gipfel des Sand Patch ...". Nobody in Germany would use the verb "klettern" in conjunction with actions involving a vehicle, which is quite different from the English, where "climb" is appropriate.
It would be better to use "fahren" or the (not so common) "erklimmen". In the latter case the word "über" must be omitted.

The voice actor for the training instructions uses other terms for the individual systems than those used to identify them on the screen.
It's absolutely not helpful to use synonyms when doing instructions!
He talks of "Spitzensignale" instead of "Frontscheinwerfer" (headlights) (and this is also wrong in the objective), "Zugbremse" (train brake) instead of "Automatische Bremse" (automatic brake) and "Lokbremse" (loco brake) instead of "Unabhängige Bremse" (direct brake).

Also a typo can be found. It's in the objective to use the horn: "Beätitgen Sie das ...", where it should be "Betätigen ...".

Edit: There's even a forth synonym which can be found in the instructions and objectives, "Makrofon" vs. "Signalhorn". In the GP38-2 the latter is used to identify the lever, whereas the lever in the SD40-2 is identified as "Makrofon". This has to be consistent in the first place, and then the selected designation should be used throughout.

 

At the Cumberland turntable are three locations to start the tutorials for each of the three locos. But when playing with German texts the hint says it would be the tutorial for the BR422 instead of AC4400CW.

 

On the SKA route one type of the collectibles are the route maps. On these maps the title is using mixed languages: Schnellfahrstrecke Köln - Köln to Aachen. I think it would be much easier to just omit "Köln to". At least there's no other typo on it.

Although the RRO hasn't been released yet as preserved content I'd like to remind the devs of the flaws I reported some months ago (link1) (link2). The route map on that route was indeed full of typos!

 

Some annoyingly bad translations were carried over with the Peninsula Corridor DLC.
They can be found as descriptions of timetable services for the GP38-2, and I even changed the system language of my PS4 to English to make sure I understood them correctly.

The service at 1:00 pm UP1 South San Francisco is texted in German: "Führen Sie das Schneiden und Schalten der Güterwagen durch, um sie für die Entladung durch den lokalen Schalter bereit zu stellen." This is a literally valid translation, but only if you don't consider it's about railway tasks. You can't literally cut freight wagons, but you can separate them. Switching is done, but not like you switch on the light.
The English text reads: "Perform cutting and switching of the hoppers, to place them ready for unloading by the local switcher."
Of course, "the local switcher" means a loco, but that's not what the translation is saying. So, to give some advice how this text would read in understandable German: "Führen Sie das Trennen und Rangieren der Güterwagen durch, um sie für die Entladung durch die lokale Rangierlok bereit zu stellen."
The service at 2:20 pm repeats the mistake with the local switcher.

And then the service at 9:40 pm. This is a different matter. The service is named Redwood Junction Switcher and in an attempt to describe a duty by repeating its title this name is also used in the description. One thing was positive with the translation, the title does not repeat the switcher mistake but uses the correct word. I'm still not satisfied, because the name of the location (Redwood Junction) has been translated, and that's not helpful, names should under no circumstances be translated! (You don't do it with persons, so why is it done with locations?)
The description text was then done absolutely wrong, because all parts of the title are concatenated with hyphens, plus the translation for duties was also attached in this way.
Nobody in Germany would create such a combination, instead you'd have to rearrange the first part of the sentence and use a different verb.
A good translation would be: "Führen Sie die Pflichten der Redwood Junction Rangierlok aus, ...."
Of course, it is possible to use the full word (...lokomotive) instead of its short form.

 

I moved on to the SKA route and did the trainings. Again I found several synonyms to be used:

The headlights of the BR442 shall be set to bright ("hell" in German), but the lever position is called "Fernlicht" (high beam).
The manual brake ("Handbremse", in the ICE the description even uses yet another word "Parkbremse") shall be released, but the switch is called "Federspeicherbremse" (spring-loaded brake).

 

With the second group of addons for the preserved collection there are now some more tutorials available.
A permanent hassle is - as expected - the continued use of synonyms, like reported above.
But on the RSN route the tutorials for the BR185.2 and BR143 remembered me of something I already didn't like when I played this with TSW 2020, the dialect used during the instructions. This is not the only occurence of a German dialect being spoken, but currently I can't remember any details.
I don't want to annoy anyone by speaking of dialects I either like or dislike, but it simply feels wrong to use a dialect at all.

 

I just came across the description of the RSN route used on the DTG news site.
Although the route is called Ruhr - Sieg Nord, you're not travelling through the Ruhr valley for most of the route.
The closest part to the Ruhr river is immediately north of Hagen, but when you've passed the station in Boele you've entered the Lenne valley. On the way to Finnentrop it's this river you're following. It's a tributary of the Ruhr river.

 

A long time I didn't see anything that fits here, but recently I was curious enough to use the livery editor. Maybe nobody cared or thought it would be necessary to report it, but the introductory screen in the editor shows a text field which has not been localised.

 

As pointed out some months ago the route maps on RRO contain lots of spelling mistakes! The title of these maps is in English although it's a German route. Here's a link to my previous post, including screenshots.

Also the faults found on the track where you're dropping through the ground were not corrected.

In fact, I'm getting the impression either nobody reads these threads carefully or nobody cares to do anything about it and to fix those flaws.
