Hi there, maybe I missed some earlier discussion related, but I encountered this issue recently. In a timetable mode, I have only two AC4400 on the front of a very long intermodal train (more than 4000t). I choose dynamic weather (my fault). It was sunny earlier, and only with the power handle at notch 8 (maximum) I can maintain the speed on a slope of 1.5%. Then it started to snow, soon I got the wheel slipping. The speed dropped significantly until a complete stop on the slope (1.5%). I had to brake to prevent going backwards, then tried to start up at notch 4, because higher than notch 4 the wheel slipping came again. But the speed was like between 0 to 0.2 mph!!!! (while it was still snowing) Is there any way to start the train in such a condition, or the only choice would be restarting the game with sunny weather chosen? Many thanks!
I have the same issue. I can usually nurse it up the hill until the steep bit just before the summit where it just becomes impossible.
Do you have locomotives in the rear because when you do this Westbound from Cumberland you simply cut them off and have power to claim it from the westbound side 16.4k hp if AC4400CW are all 4 locos 15k hp if AC4400CW x3 with SD40-2 GP38-2 eastbound since you don't have a rear locomotive
No, no rear locos found in the task. I chose the AC4400CW as my desired loco and chose a westbound service from Cumberland. Only 2 locos on the front were given when the task started. I tried to get another pair from nearby yard but failed. I cannot control other locos without giving up my current task
I’ve had trouble from time to time on this route when weather is bad too. The explanation I’ve heard is that the route and consists were originally developed in TSW 2020, and when the route has been ported to TSW2/3 with new physics systems some of the trains don’t have enough power during certain situations.
