Really loving this, so absorbing and so well crafted. Exqusite! One small thing I've noticed on PC and PS5 is that the AI trains don't generally chuff. They pull away seemingly powered by some mysterious force... ;) I have seen one chuffing away do it once at Lime St, when using the turntable, but as soon as it coupled to it's relevant carriages, it stopped. No major biggy, but just detracts from the immersion a little.

Have to say, well done to being the one to bring this up first. I was going to report it here, as I was something that I noticed during the preview streams that AI trains weren't chuffing or making any noise (and it appears the worst fears have been realized), but I'll let you have this one here.

But what I did what to share here is evidence of this problem. I don't have any video footage, but I hope I can convey to issue using a bunch of images of both the Jubilee and the 8F setting off in AI mode.

    So here's the Jubilee...:

    ...and here's the 8F:

So as you can see, no chuffs coming out of the chimney, no chuffing sounds coming from the locos, it's just rolls quitely by without making any noise.

What I find particularly strange here is that I have seen in the signalling tutorial that there were some 8F's that were chuffing and making chuffing noises, so why it was happening over there and not here is a complete mystery.

Hopefully this can be addressed as soon as possible as it is something that really destroyes the immersion on this route, just as much if not moreso than the lack of trackjoint sounds to see AI Trains rolling around while making no sounds or chuffs whatsoever.

So this whole situation got a little more interesting.

Turns out AI steam engines will only make chuff noises/emit chuffs when it is running light engine with nothing attached. It's only when the engine is coupled up to something like some wagons or coaches that they don't make any noise/chuffs while operating under AI. To prove this again, here area bunch of images of both a Jubilee & 8F accelerating light engine from a standing start.

It's also worth mentioning that while an 8F is operating under AI, it's seems to have the wrong sound kit attached to it as it's making the sound of a Jubilee (Which is a 3-cylinder engine compared to the 2-cylinders of the 8F). But this is only when operating under AI, when you are driving, it's does the normal 2-cylinder sound that it should be making.

This does give me hope that this can be fixed, as it's seems related to when an steam engine is attached to something, but lets wait and see on that. Plus, it's also worth checking out why an 8F is making Jubilee sounds while operating under AI.

I agree. Certainly seems to me it's tied up with the AI loco being coupled to carriages or not.

Saw the same thing. As soon as a loco is coupled to carriages, it stops steaming properly.
In the video you can see steam coming out right before it stops and when it gets going again after coupling there is no more steam.
