Key Features The railway line Between Breda and Eindhoven offers alot, here are a few key features - About 60km of track through the beautiful south of the netherlands - 9 Stations, 3 for intercity services and 6 commuter services - BR186 (traxx) + ICRmh coaches / ICNG (alstom coradia) running from Breda to eindhoven from the HSL - Stadler FLIRT Services between Breda - tilburg and Tilburg universiteit - eindhoven - The Busy station of Eindhoven Centraal wich serves as an important station as it connects to the trainline to Limburg. Stations from west to east - Breda: A modern station opened in 2014 serves the city of breda and offering direct connections to The HSL with trains running towards both Bruxelles and Amsterdam. Overall a nice modern station. - Gilze-rijen: Is a commuter station serving the towns Gilze and Rijen. It has the oldest station building on the line. - Tilburg Reeshof: a Modern commuter station serving the suburb of Reeshof in Tilburg being build in 2003. Offering a good connections for residents to the railway network. - Tilburg Universiteit A station from 1969 offering a fast connections to the university of tilburg which is close to there, the platforms are in a unique layout in a so called Bajonetligging with an extra terminating platform for the sprinter to eindhoven. - Tilburg: An Intercity station from 1965, the station offers a unique roof and a nice station area. The city itself has a long history with trains, as a Workshop for trains was located next to the station till 2009. - Oisterwijk: A small stop on the line, with a nice old station building being opened in 1863. - Best: Is quite a unique station, its underground! The station also looks really unique. The station was build around the 80's and you can see that back in the design. - Eindhoven Strijp S: A station in the second city centre of eindhoven. The phillips factories were located there, but it got turned into the pedestrianized city centre it is today. - Eindhoven Centraal: A large station from 1956, the station building was inspired by the phillips radio of that time. Because the company has had an important relation with the city since its beginning. In 2008 the station became a monument and it still stands today! Rolling stock This route allows a variety of rollling stock to be used. ICNG The ICNG (Intercity Nieuwe generatie) is a modern high speed train introduced in 2023 that would be able to run the intercity service between Breda (from Amsterdam or The hague) and eindhoven. The trains is capable of speeds up to 200km per hours and has ATB and ERTMS installed. TRAXX (BR 186) + ICRmh Is the predecesor of the ICNG, origanally introduced as a temporary solution for the failed fyra trains on the HSL turned into an icon on the dutch rail scene, this train also runs the intercity between breda and eindhoven. These trains are pretty but are sadly slowly being replaced by the ICNG STADLER FLIRT Is a commuter train (sprinter) introduced because the NS needed extra trains due to growth in the network and couldnt wait longer on the trains of spanish company CAF with the SNG. So the stadler flirt was introduced onto the network in 2016 and is now loved by almost all rail enthusiast in the netherlands as the best sprinter. This train runs on the sprinter lines between Breda (from dordrecht) to tilburg (further to nijmegen/arnhem) And the sprinter line between Tilburg universiteit and eindhoven (/ further to weert) DDZ (Dubbeldekkingzonering) Is a train used on the intercity line that runs between Breda (from roosendaal) and Tilburg (further to zwolle) The trains are refitted from the old DDAR trains. They are known for being pretty unreliable but they are quite liked by most enthusiasts. ICMm (gemoderniseert intercity materieel) This train can be re-used from zwolle - groningen if needed to run on the same section as the DDZ if the DDZ can't be made. The ICMm sometimes runs on this line but its quite rare. Sum-up: Spoorlijn Breda - eindhoven would be a great addition to the train sim world route collection following the beautifull spoorlijn zwolle-groningen.
