Excellent, a sale at last! I've just picked up Bahnstrecke Bremen - Oldenburg and New York - Trenton.
I might do the same and take today Bremen, but Trenton is biggest poop in my opinion, still angry that I gave £29.99 for it. Should be £9.99 top
Finally, NEC New York to Trenton gets a 20 percent discount in Playstation Store, which is almost the same as the old DLC route price before last year's price increase. I'll probably grab it so I can drive the Acela Express into NY Penn and try out the ALP-46 with the US DoStos for the first time. According to today's roadmap update from Alex, improvements are also to be made to the US content. Would be great if the missing Manhattan skyline would also be submitted later!
Good to see some discounts for the newer DLCs on PlayStation finally! If this happened a few weeks ago, I would probably have jumped at NY-Trenton, but the route really doesn’t seem to have much longevity as almost nobody talks about it anymore. Seems like it can get quite bland and repetitive (which is just the nature of the line itself, I suppose). Bremen-Oldenburg is actually decent, but I‘ll probably go for Linke Rheinstrecke instead when that gets discounted in a few months, because that one also brings me the 101 + n-Wagen (albeit in much cooler liveries) together with the 103 and a layer for the amazing 628. The route itself also seems to be much more beautiful, so just a better deal in the end. This made me think about which DLCs I‘d actually buy right now if they were severely discounted. Not a lot, simply because I‘ve rediscovered lots of older DLCs like London Commuter, Bakerloo, TVL, NTP and WSR. I don’t feel the need to buy new content to keep me interested in TSW right now. I guess I might make an exception with Birmingham Cross City due to its really good reception. And who knows, perhaps Midland Mainline will live up to the hype. It certainly has lots of potential. We also have some unannounced stuff like the rumored Preston-Blackpool route in the pipeline.
FINALLY! I’ve been waiting for a Harlem Line sale for so long. The M7A and M3A should be fun to drive.
I've just had a run on the Bremen - Oldenburg route, its a decent route but very short. Its worth the £20 i paid for it, I'm glad i didn't get it at full price. I haven't driven New York - Trenton yet, I was always looking forward driving this route when it got released but with all the negative reviews and the clipping on platforms shown on the Stream i held off but now with a 20% discount and with an update for this route very soon I thought I should get it while its £25. I will be doing a service on this route tonight and hope its not as bad as most people make it out to be.
And the LIRR AI layer at Pennstation in Servicemode and some AI freight at the yards in the Newark Area.
I bought it around Christmas with 40 % discount. Have a bit patience and use the next sale, that will come for sure.
20% off the NY-Trenton route is still not nearly enough for me to pick it up. 30% off Bremen Oldenburg might tempt me, but I’ve not tracked opinion on the route and whether it’s worth a buy or whether there are still glaring issues outstanding.
Had I not just bought the two latest German routes (well, I got one for my birthday but it still counts) I may have just bought this right away as soon as the sale came to my attention. As it is, I’m going to put more thought into it as to whether I even need a new route just yet. 30% is the kind of discount I like and it may not come up again for a while. One way of guaranteeing it comes up with a 40% or more discount in a month or two is for me to buy it in this sale. I certainly won’t be buying anything at full price before the yearly bundle comes along. More research needed.
If you like modern German content and have a lot of existing locos from other routes then I would say it's absolutely worth getting Bremen. It's quite a short route, average service times around 30-40 minutes to complete, but the timetable is fantastic and highly varied with a plethora of rolling stock and service types with passenger, freight, ECS etc. The AI traffic at Bremen Hbf is also very impressive and with it being busy feels very immersive. Some of the more negative aspects - apart from being a shorter route - is that while I'm on Series X, the route is by far the worst performing regarding stuttering and micropauses for me - hopefully it's better on Playstation. While there are still bugs that DTG should fix ASAP, I'd say overall Bremen is a route you should get as I've had a lot of enjoyment from it.
Another Playstation sale. https://rb.gy/b6moa This one lasts to May 10th Nothing for xbox players. How about it Microsoft!!!
