Hello everyone today I will be suggesting the last portion of the a 50s era of the last portion of the SWML for TSW 3. Locos: SR West Country Class 34046 Braunton + 47805 Working 1Z48 London - Chichester by tft#6439 posted Sep 18, 2022 at 2:25 PM SR Merchant Navys: SR Bullied Pacific: SR U Class: Stops: Bournemouth, Branksome, Parkstone (Dorset), Poole, Hamworthy, Holton Heath, Wareham (Connects To Swanage Railway), Wool, Morton (Dorset), Dorchester South, Upwey, Weymouth Jersey Sidings, Weymouth Quay Weymouth. It would be about the same length as GWE coming in at about 38 Miles. Let me know what you guys think in the comments.
West Country would be fun, although I prefer the looks of the unrebuilt "Spam Can" units The NRM had a video not long ago on their unrebuilt Battle of Britain in the collection that pulled Churchill's funeral train. They look like they'd be a little quirky to run when compared to the steam locomotives we have in game currently.
Bring it on and For layering option owners of the route can get 1950s timetables for Chatham and North Kent Lines on SEH ECW and BML if applicable to do so. Another steam locomotive that can fit here is Southern Railway Q1 Neville since we have a SR Battle of Britain class Rebecca as standard.
Brilliant suggestion mate, I have always had a soft spot for the Light Pacifics, though I prefer them unrebuilt (is that even a word!).
Hey, you guys invented the language, you can do what you want. It's us colonists that messed it all up!
If you want to know what's the reason behind it it's the Noah Webster spelling reform. Speaking of the Light Pacific locomotives younger Generations will use the name Rebecca to describe one because Thomas and Friends Rebecca belong that type of locomotives. Southern Region DMU like 3H Class 205 can be a DLC here provided there is a need of British Railways Diesels here like Peak Forest route. Also a 4MT can fit here
You left out Weymouth Quay station. The tramway is no longer in use, but it was used in the 1950s. Driving the Channel Island boat trains through the streets of Weymouth would add interest to the route.
Any route that includes the Quay line would be awesome. Never had the opportunity to ride on it but watched the train pass a couple of times and while I understand why it was eventually closed and pulled up, it’s a bit of a travesty and such a unique piece of infrastructure should have been preserved.
This is a awesome idea. The route it follows is constantly jumping between land and sea. Take the part of track going across the end of Poole park. You are basically on the water to then around Dorchester being back in the running purbeck hills, would look spectacular if enough detail was spent on getting it absolutely right.
