Xbox Series X Starter Pack Download Issue

When trying to purchase the free starter pack. The Xbox says that I already own this, which I have looked through and I haven’t got the game already. So my only option is to download through game pass. Which I don’t want to do as it will expire soon. What can I do. Thanks

 

I bought the deluxe but it just let's me install free starter pack. And I have to install every route and loco I want again...it will take ages

 

Its standard with tsw that just downloads the base game and training center then all new routes have to be downloaded ..i just got the free version stater pak and currently installing my precious tsw routes i like most into tsw5. My internet not the best so i do 1 route at a time ...if more it boggs it down

 

So on XB and I have the XB 1X I have redownloaded each route even though it shows the ones I own already via TSW3

 

I’m not sure the replies quite understand where I’m coming from. Basically I cannot download and own the free starter pack, as it says I own it already. It is only letting me download it with game pass. So when the game pass runs out on TSW. It will delete my game.

 

All this has me a bit confused, with the way Xb has done things there is XB core and XB ultimate, my daughter got TSW5 FREE for me and she just went into the store and downloaded it like that via XB core.

 

I’ve had TSW for years and I’m not bothered about some of the new routes. So I wanted to get the free starter pack. But it doesn’t let me own it. Only allows me to use it with game pass

 

Try going to the XBox store website, where the button may have an additional dropdown option with the options to gift it or "buy to own" for stuff that is available to download via Game Pass.
This is a definite oversight I think in how when it checks eligibility to claim the free upgrade the access granted via Game Pass is not properly working as it should and offering the ability to purchase. I think I've seen people work around such issues in the past by doing it via the web store instead of the store on the console itself.

I don t have gamepass but i downloaded. The free stater tsw 5 from the x box store it was a 7.8 gb download

 

Yes but the problem the OP is reporting is that they have the Game Pass version of TSW5 but are trying to download the starter pack so they get to keep it after their Game Pass eligibility expires without needing to buy TSW5 then. the issue being it says they already have it when they do not.

Sadly I cannot personally test for a solution here as I refuse to get any such paid subscription over simply buying and owning games.

 

My problem is I paid for the game Deluxe on Xbox x and it tells me I need to pay for it again...

 

I recall with TSW4, the pre-order editions contained bonus decals, so these would not be in the editions visible on release date. If you check the content within the edition, all items should show as owned and ready to install. You can also see it all in your library without needing to open the store.
