No clue if some other have same effecs or why it is as it is at my TS installation:
it startet years ago with one of the updates after the 64bit version had released . When I start regulary the 64bit version I have in TS very low fps (some around max. 20) and often its more like a diashow. With the 32bit the fps are normal (and significant higher). Then I experimented and renamed the railworks64.exe into railworks.exe, and the railworks.exe into railworks32.exe. By now starting the 64bit version (railworks.exe) I have now normal fps as it should.
Even now with the new core update I hoped it would finally end this renaming thing for me. But yet again, I must rename the railworks64.exe to have normal fps rates.
Perhaps I did not unterstand something, but I would like to understand why this is so, and if others has made same observations. Oh and to add; I use a shortcut on desktop to start instead via Steam.
(Have no Enhancer installed, no Vulcan driver as some people, Steam installed on harddrive C:/, TSC on D:/ )

How many videocards do you have ?

Does your videocard software have dedicated settings for the RailWorks program ?

I was using a GTX 970 until recently and it was okay. Currently the minimum recommended or so, but.
    At least for older content.

    Are you running Win10 / Win11?
    Intel / AMD?

Windows is trying to magically discover that you're playing a game and adapting its settings accordingly.
One of those is Efficient / High Performance mode. Start / Settings / System / Display / Graphics. I added RW64 manually.
The other is the power mode, which has its own effects, based on the settings behind it. I had a really weird behaviour (machine gun stutters) before adjusting settings.
Also make sure you have the full graphics drivers installed. Windows delivers them and they work mostly fine, but the extended package (say, AMD Adrenalin) tends to bring additional settings. (Nvidia drivers include configuration but AMD driver has none.)

Thank you for the advice on this issue. I did notice the low FPS. I changed the name as you suggested and the FPS increased much to my delight. Again, thank you for the advise.

So, I have now added in Windows System => Graphics tthe railworks64 with setting High performance and using graphic card.
Now its working. I really didn“t understand why this was needed, I never changed there (added or deleted an entry) anything and suddenly TS64bit worked not anymore as he should? However now it seems to work properly - for now.
    :)

Is a common issue for many people. I suggested that TS should show in the settings menu which videocard it was using. But the forum specialists keelhauled me for that dumb suggestion :)
