Rapid Transit was on my wishlist, however after members pointed me on serveral unsolved issues with this route, I decided not to buy it, at least not now at full price.

Rhein Ruhr Osten also interest me, how is the state of this route? Are there unsolved issues with this route?

Well the track laying is a bit shonky, instant gradient transitions but like HRR you have two different routes between the end points and IMHO more scenic and interesting. Be advised though if you have, or plan on getting, the TSG G6 pack for which this is the native route, not all the timetable operations work. It has never been fixed.

It has trains on it and you can drive them same as all other routes, sound bit of advice, if you really want it, just buy it. Just because something really annoys someone with a route you want to buy doesn't mean you'll be the same. I'm going to guess rapid transit still pulls at your strings because that was your jam, it's everything that potentially instrests you.......

Thanks for the quick reply. So from what I understand, no major issues other then the timetable for the G6? I was thinking about getting G6 later on, sad those things services are not fixed.

Thanks! Yes RT still interest me, however there is a derail on the S6 line, which is a major issue to me. RRO was also on my radar, mostly for the 422 and the scenery on this route.

    I quite like RRO.

    Is it perfect? No.

Is it worth having in your collection? Yes.

The G6 is worth having, even with the timetable issues on its 'home' route, for it layers on other routes or substitutes for the 363. Great Loco to drive.

Good to know! There is something about those old routes, I think is's the atmosphere. I have it with HRR and MSB, but also see it in RRO, RT and RSN.

So besides the G6, I also need to.buy RSN and the 363 to take full benefit of this loco. My wishlist is gonna be big, time for a really big sale on Xbox ;)

Sometimes you need the RSN 363 to make use of the G6, but not always. On Zwolle Groningen it layers straight on, on Maintalbahn it substitutes for the resident 363. And others. But yeah, you need quite some layers to get the most out of this game...

RRO is a nice route. What I find most surprising is that there is a very interesting feature (which may have been one of the reasons to model the route) just before Ennepetal (KM 131.0) that is part of an extended branch that seems to have been 80% completed. It would allow for some more freight workings and be useful for the 363 & G6, yet it has never been completed.

It seems everyone is positive about this route. That's really interesting about the branche line, you really wonder why they didn't add this when it's already for 80% completed. Some extra kilometers won't hurt this route.

There's a few bridges on the Inlandsbanan in Sweden where the track shares a bridge with the road.

Also IIRC there's a dual road/rail tunnel in Alaska where presumably the traffic is stopped and cleared out the way the few times a day a train needs to go through.

Good catch, I never knew that there’s a street running section on RRO.

I've bought the route today and I have to say, I like it. The scenery is pretty good and scenic and the S-bahn services are fun. I also did a freight service on the mainline, but it was very quiet with other trains. I only have MSB layered on, does RSN give you way more traffic on the mainline with the BR143 and dostos?

That one is also on my wishlist, but if RSN gives a lot more traffic on RRO, then I want to buy RSN first.

I have every single German route
Rsn adds 82 services and msn adds 32 services and ai as well

So RSN add the most services and with that, AI trains. When I drove the freight train, I only saw one 146 with dostos at the start, the rest of the journey not one at all.

Could be where its an older route the ai is not that much present. Also i didn't notice any playable jobs with the dostos.

I noticed it too the dostos are not driveable, weird. The HBF's are almost deserted.

On tsw fandom.com wiki I see the service count is the other way around:

    BR143: 36
    BR146: 82

So is the difference with or without RSN really noticable?

It will feel more busy with them. But not as busy like some other routes.

I think I have to buy RSN too, however the BR143 with 4th gen dostos is not realistic on both RSN and RRO, as far as I know.

I haven't run RRO in age, but like others i do recommend the G6 shunter. It's a fun little loco to drive and it layers in on a LOT of routes. I've lost track of how the layering works at this point- not sure if RRO is required for the G6 layers to activate on other routes.

From what I understood, it also can replace the BR363, but I don't have the red BR363 from RSN, as I don't own that route yet.

Good to know- that was a fun route but is pretty outdated tech-wise these days.

I'd like to see a remastered/extended version someday.

I would already be happy with a new timetable for those old routes. But we really need some other companies then DB and newer trains, like the Flirt. New livery on the Flirt from S-bahn Zentralschweiz for example would be nice.

I believe the G6 can also replace the blue BR363, like the one on Tharanther Rampe and Maintalbahn.

I would actually love to see RRO and RSN both upgraded to the latest in game standard (lighting etc) and then get new timetables. If I remember rightly, the S-Bahn timetable on RRO can be a challenge to run to time.

That would be the Whittier tunnel aka the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel. It runs out of the port of Whittier and is the only way in our out of the town for both vehicles and freight trains.
