Sitting musing here after breakfast, it occurred to me after DTG generously (!) restored the save game to TSW3, it has gone very quiet about any further fixes or upgrades. Thinking in particular of… 1. More than one save slot. This bit me last night having messed up a scenario on WCL with a SPAD, went off to do something on BRO but that also got interrupted by real life. Dilemma - do I abandon my run on on BRO or do I save it which will wipe where I previously resumed from on WCL? 2. Save game not recognising if you change trains and save on a subsequent run. This can either be changing ends and taking the same consist back out on its next working, or wandering around in free roam and picking up another train. Invariably the operational and objective data which displays on the top LH screen plus the clock and the objective marker fail to restore. This makes it nigh on impossible to chain runs and attempt an extended driver’s shift if you need to come off and save the game. Sorry to ping DTG Matt but any chance of some QOL movement on the above, even if just a commitment to get it in for TSW4.
I like idea #1 to have multiple save slots. Like I would probably have one just for the holiday express just so I could have a quick load where I already built the consist and can just chug around the living room for a few minutes.
The only successful saves for me are when I've saved mid run and gone back to it. Any saves after finishing a service have resulted in the next service not being playable as Vern has stated. I've even tried suggested work arounds. It would be good to have this fixed once and for all. I have given up with it for now. It would be great to be able to start a service on a route early in the morning and continue driving it on a whim over a period of weeks. A save slot per route is something frankly which should have been there from the start.
Of course. Harken back to MSTS where you had multiple saves and could even choose from several save points from the same scenario to return to. We've come a long way.
I don't use it a lot as the feature never consistently works for me- like others have said, it works mostly ok restoring a single session, but if you've changed ends or anything beyond a single service it's fairly useless. Multiple save slots would be most welcome. Also, is there a particular reason TSW doesn't use cloud saves? It might be the only game I have on Steam that doesn't use that feature- can't be a console issue as they all use it too- just seems peculiar to me.
Been talked about for years, never implemented. Usually comes up when someone loses his/her profile progress.
I'm completely in favor of having multiple saves available but would also recommend having all current saves listed visibly on the resume tab.
