Apologies if there's already a thread, but here's my feedback on the station dispatcher scenario, and suggestions as to how it could be improved if it became a major gameplay feature. The scenario was enjoyable, but the elephant in the room was the fact that the services were much more frequent than they are in timetable mode. Even at a moderately busy station like Plymouth, there will be long gaps that you need to fill with tasks. You've done that a bit, but here's my suggestion as to how that could be improved. I think the litter-collecting and plant-watering tasks feel like-busy work, more like collectable behaviour (which I don't mind!). I think I'd replace it with some different tasks, namely: 1) answering passengers queries, such as: * which platform for this train? * does this train stop at X/which train for X? * is this ticket valid on this train? * I've missed my train to X, when's the next one? 2) tying into train faults and random faults, for example: * closing train doors that are stuck * reporting signal delays 3) lost and abandoned property * recording lost property reports * looking out for abandoned luggage 4) as others have pointed out, the ramp feature is neat but it would be better to have a passenger who looks more like they need it - tying into the more varied passenger models people have requested. Other tasks, like helping take bikes and heavy cases on and off trains would be useful. 5) older-set routes could give you the option to help with luggage and mail vans. I think some changes to the stations would be needed to do this: a) stations should have a base for staff (where appropriate), a small office where you could store things, and start and end your shift. b) you need PIS that summarise all a station's departures and arrivals. Many stations have this IRL, and many are rendered, but without data plugged in. Given that you have this information, this could presumably be done. This screen at Dresden Hbf, for example, is rendered but is static c) more parts of the station may need to be accessible to show enable this. And please, do away with Go to opposite platform To help with this, a virtual mobile app (or an actual companion app!) could give you the information you need, the option to contact people etc. This could also be used in guard mode and even driver mode. On that subject, I hope guard mode isn't abandoned. There's still potential there, and still issues to fix. Some of the suggested gameplay - asking queries, dealing with faults - could be added to that, and we still need to enhance the ticket checking, e.g. with off route destinations.
