Moving forward from my note in "How much time? I was put in touch with a thread "Steam a realistic challenge". Jubilee's in fact on TSW do best with regulator at say 40% and cut of in the 30%. Now being an ex BR fireman from 1960's and say starting out from Birmingham New Street plat 10 or 11, trying to start with those settings you would soon stall in the tunnels well before Five Ways. 75% reg and 70% cut off needed winding back as soon as possible. Anyway on SOS out of Liverpool I would just about stall with those settings crawling up at 14 mph. So I tried against all my better judgement 40% 30% playing around with cut off and the Jubilee romped out and me having to reduce reg to keep in speed limit. Now I am off back to TSW to get them Jub's out of Liverpool on speed on time. That goes for leaving Runcorn too.
