Hi Haven't used steam much before, but purchased Train Sim World 2 (and have been having lots of fun). Purchased some add on DLC, and one has installed just fine and shows up as an available route when I start the game, the second says it's in my steam library, but it doesn't show up when I start the game... I have - restarted the PC, logged out of and back into steam, gone to steam support, but when I follow the prompts to what is the closest to my issue 'DLC or bonus content is missing' it directs me to Dovetail. Dovetail support seems to direct me back to steam since even though steam suggests it's downloaded to my library I have to assume it isn't actually there and Dovetail obviously wouldn't be able to help if that's actually the case. Anybody have any suggestions on what I should do?
Which DLCs did you buy? Can you link their exact store pages? My initial guess is that you inadvertently bought a TSW2020 DLC without owning the base game. Cheers
Hi, and thanks for the reply... Unfortunately I don't think it's that. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1418847/Train_Sim_World_2_Southeastern_BR_Class_465_EMU_AddOn/ I've managed to send a support request to steam (takes a bit of digging), but I'm thinking now that probably the best course of action would be to uninstall it from my library and then re-download it... It's definitely not being picked up by the game despite being listed (under the game) as in my library along with the other DLC that I purchased, not showing up as an available route when the game starts, and none of the assets listed when I look at my profile. Appreciate the response though. Edit: The other one (which is showing up) is this https://store.steampowered.com/app/...Corridor_San_Francisco__San_Jose_Route_AddOn/
Yes, that is a TSW2 only DLC, so it definitely should work! The next thing I would try is to go to your DLC page and untick the box for the BR Class 465 DLC, close the menu, reopen the menu, tick the box again, and see if Steam starts to download. What happened to you is very strange but hopefully the above will fix the issue. Cheers
I don't understand what you mean. You need Southeastern High Speed DLC to use Class 465. You can just buy the DLC or refund the 465 if you want.
This is a good point. Do you own this DLC? It is required to use the BR Class 465, even if you want to use it on a different route. https://store.steampowered.com/app/...eed_London_St_Pancras__Faversham_Route_AddOn/ Cheers
You do? The DLC just says you need the base game to play it. Not saying you are wrong, but surely it would say you need another DLC in order to use that DLC?
Ok. Thanks guys, if that's a majority decision, then I'll probably just refund it. Strange how it doesn't seem to indicate that you need the Southeastern Highspeed DLC anywhere, but no big deal, and thanks again.
"Please note: Train Sim World 2: Southeastern High Speed is required, as a separate purchase, in order to utilise the content featured in this add-on."
It does say, just in smaller print. It's easy for someone new to the game to miss. It can be quite confusing sometimes. Cheers
Just for future reference when buying loco add-on DLCs for TSW2. All standalone loco DLCs such as the class 465, class 20 etc need their base route to operate as they are tied to it. As you found out today, it can be a pain to find out as it's written at the bottom of the info rather than the top.
