Just want to know because I want to know if they overwrite existing files, and if they're easy to remove.

They are very easy to install and uninstall. When you purchase a product, you will receive a download of your purchase from Send Owl. This will allow 10 downloads and can be accessed in the future from your account. Click on the link and it downloads as normal. Nothing to worry about, installing or uninstalling, it is really simple.

I know how downloading SSS products works. What I'm interested in is installing their sound and enhancement packs.

It’s the same way as all their products.

If you buy a Sound Package it would overwrite the normal Steam installed items
You can revert to default by deleting the loco and reinstalling thru your steam client

Loco and Coach Packs normally install to their own folders as they are stand alone products and do not affect anything pre installed
Not sure about removal - but I think you could just delete the folder

SSS uses installer executables. I always install stuff to a dummy folder to see what happens - then move the files to RailWorks folder manually, so I can see if things are going to be overwritten.

Just a note - some of the early SSS - DLC were installed into the C:\SteamSoundsSupreme folder (not in the Railworks/Assets folder) so Torf gives good advice above.

Looking at it now - it must have been part of the installation process as it contained both .exe and .msi files and the C:drive files were remnants left behind.
