To increase the visibility of DLC dependencies, we have worked with Steam to implement a new system. Please be aware of the following layout changes on the Steam Store.

This is however a manual process to update store pages, so links in the product description will be gradually removed, in favour of the new system.

For now, please continue to read all the information provided on the product page, before committing to purchase.

    Support for DLC Dependencies
This feature really only applies to a small set of unique product situations (namely the DLC behemoth, Train Simulator) where some items of DLC depend on other DLC items to fully function. We generally don't recommend making content require other content, as it can seriously limit the potential for adoption of that content. But there are some valid use cases that were previously using text links in written descriptions, so we needed to formalize the concept of DLC dependency. This update makes it easier for developers to manage, and makes it much more clear to players to understand requirements and to purchase the dependent content.

In the Train Simulator example, there are cases where the full, historically-accurate use of a particular locomotive depends on also purchasing the rail routes on which that locomotive operates.
