There is no date at this time, they have a lot of things to work through yet before they will be ready.

With the sad sorry and pathic current state of recent DTG dlc releases any steam engine they release will be a disaster on wheels no doubt about it....FACE IT DTG TESTING LEAVES A LOT TO BE DESIRED...Like any real testing to began with.

I predict early 2022 will be the announcement.

The release of the first steam train would probably be March or April next year.

I feel they told the news way too early, the hype is dead. If they'd told us now, it would've been a much better option.

I do think they were between a rock and a hard place situation with announcing it to be honest. One the one hand it was a glaring omission from the title and if they hadn't mentioned anything at all then I think people would assume it was never going to happen and would stop following the game.

On the other hand, by announcing they were working on it so far out from when it will eventually be available, it has sort of faded into the background a bit. However, I can almost guarantee that when the first screenshot of a steam loco in TSW drops, there will be an absolute hype explosion which will carry on until it does release.

I’d recommend skipping through last nights stream. There’s a significant discussion around where steam is in here. I don’t know time stamp unfortunately.

Yes, it was very decent of them to comment on steam. Apparently, SimuGraph does not handle the steam traction data fast enough.

I must be the only person who is not bothered by steam, I would prefer a nice 86/87/90 & q route to go with them :D

    I'll get me coat!

Oh yeah. Definetly. Gimme 86/87 and any stretch of track between Preston and Glasgow and I will be happy as in the times of TS2014 :D

I am really looking forward to steam in TSW2. What we were told on stream was very constructive and helpful after not hearing very much for a long while. It’s that kind of dev news that’s refreshing to hear.
Funny that the older technology is more of a challenge to simulate, but it sounds like it’s helping make simugraph more and more versatile.

or at the very least, making Simugraph even more robust.

I'm wondering actually whether it'll be summer next year. Gives them months more tinkering and the opportunity to spin another £30 or so annual update. I could be wrong
