It looks like steamer freight train ran on the line, a BR52. Not sure of it was suggested to TSG to put togheter a german steamer for this line as an expansion to get freight moving via steam. Couldn't ask for more!
I've done a short trip with the Fowler 4f on the line and i'm very happy with the outcome but needs some experts on the case. First off if until TSG release a proper german steamer expansion you could take the 4F and re-theme it so it's DB themed which means the body is black and the wheels and cogs, leavers etc are a nice bright red. The steamer could utilize british mk1s for passanger services or its own stock wagons or you could take it up a notch and use the route's freight wagons to hawl sugar beet. Eitherway it's a fantastic concept.
I'd love to see a German steam loco, and Niddertalbahn would be a fun route to drive it on. TSC had the BR86 which was a nice little steam engine, perhaps a loco like that would be fun to have in TSW as well.
